Really hope last season was just a blip and not a sign he's on the wane.

If he does look this season like he did last, it will be time for his role in the team to be diminished.

True love lasts a life time .

He's an excellent footballer and for all the headlines Payet grabbed with his flashy showmanship during our final season at the Boleyn , it was Noble who for my money was our outstanding player that season .

A local lad, cost us nowt and he's played hundreds of games for West Ham under half a dozen Managers and three sets of owners , what more do people want or expect from him ? Comfortably the best passer of the ball at the club ( even though he still does that annoying thing of passing slightly behind a players stride on occasion) , and one of the few we've had in the last decade capable of quickly seeing if something is "on" .

As he enters the twilight of his career in the coming seasons, enjoy them because once he hangs up his boots it's down to cheering on carlos kickaball, and a never ending series of players who do 70 match stints for us. , and given the nature of modern football I doubt we'll ever see anyone like him again.

Truly the last local hero of the Boleyn ground , we'll miss him when he's gone .

He was a team mate of my little brother and I knew him for a few years growing up, went away a couple of times with him, his mum and dad.
Lost touch a long time ago now though.

Fo sho, bro, no booshit

... And whilst my post was a little mischievous, it was to poke a little fun at the West Ham through and through thing, facetiously, not to judge him. As I say, he's proper West Ham :)

I hope he's sensible when it comes to calling it a day though. I love him as a player and don't want to see him reduced to 10 minute Johnny Moncs cameos.

Long sleeve shirt 3 sizes too big, obligatory yellow and a sideways 'thumbs up' down the touchline?

While that writing has been on the wall for the last twenty years, it will nevertheless be a very sad day when Noble retires and the 'local club' vibe disappears completely.

This will be worth copying & pasting & reposting about 30 times next season.. Everytime a quiet game is followed by a decent game, & vice versa

That's how many times he'll start in the middle for us. All the formations and all the Football Manager experts in the land won't change that.

We are built around him.

Considering his age and position fair enough, but reckon he's got a couple more seasons in him no?

It's not black and white until on they settle, RARS.

My nephew used to change teams every six months until he got a West Ham season ticket last season and decided he was Liverpool.

For my last birthday, his dad gave me a framed photo of him wearing a West Ham kit and smirking.

On balance I would have preferred headphones.

Cruyff turn with the physio's water bottle as he exits the pitch.
