I think Brooking , Bonds, Bishop etc are West Ham Gods. The rest are all legends.

What about Moore, Peters & Hurst? being legends? never remember any of them being injured all the time, and they never collected wages like £80K or £90K a week, Mark will always be a legend in my eyes as with many others! :scarfer:

Why dig out any other players (I'm assuming you meant Carroll) to make the point of Noble being a legend?

There were no negotiations in those days, the club held your registration until it was ready to give it up.

Nobes will surely be more of a squad player this season. Moving forward id say appointing a new captain would be a bold move from Slav.

cant see that happening and it would be a disgrace if it did, Mark Noble and to a slightly lesser extent james collins are 2 examples of everything right about a pro footballer , we fans know , that when they kiss 'our badge' they mean it , and the treatment dished out to Mark Noble on social media , by some of our so called fans has been shameful , some delighting in his injury yesterday , There has to be a bond between player and club , and player and fans , Noble typifies this , Bilic understands this , its a pity the keyboard morons dont esp on twitter

So Chigwells finest are you saying Noble and Collins should be in the team because of their dedication? A dedication that has earned them a vast income.

If a player has more ability than either and is younger and faster he should be on the bench because Noble/Collins have been here longer.

Time to give the captaincy to Zabeletta , Some who has been there and got all the tee shirts.

Maybe making Noble a bench warmer makes him up his game that can only be good for Him and Us, just because he's been at the club X years doesn't make him an automatic choice or does it?

My only reservation for giving the captains job to Zabeletta would be the amount of time he would be a 1st teamer. It would be a short term fix. But one that would undoubtedly improve the team leading skills on the pitch.

So now Chigwell not having Noble as Captain is ripping the heart out of the club, Don't buy into that at all. If the only reason he is picked is because he is captain smacks of Sam and Nolan.

What if we signed a CM to replace Noble wou8ld that be wrong? no one person is bigger than the club . IMHO Noble will be a bit part player, so we would need a new on pitch skipper.
