Well done Mark!

I'd like to think he can achieve between Steve Potts and Alvin Martin. Not his best season but the movement around him has been dogsh!t this season.

Would also like to point out how quickly Nobes was to go over to Byram at the end and laud him for a vital interception which virtually closed the game out for us.

Mark's value to us transcends his value on the pitch (I still believe he as a lot to offer in that sense anyway). He's a leader who has done wonders for our dressing room - just think about the general friendly atmosphere there seems to be around our squad, everyone made to feel welcome and Nobes going out of his way to help players (eg Payet) out when they first arrive - and more that than he's the last of a dying breed of home-grown players. To me it's unfathomable why anyone would want to lose what is essentially the last link between players and fans we have at this club.

400 up, here's to many more :scarfer:

looking at that list - is it not worth giving billy bonds a run out one week just to get him to 800 ??

You know your football.

Bobby Moore was another who wasn't quick running, but someone who read the game quicker than anybody else and knew the passes to make before he received the ball.
You don't know your football.
Pirlo, Scholes & Sir Bobby Moore how can you honestly compare Mark Noble to these greats?

Why don't you compare him to urm :eh:

Neither I or Joe compared players like for like, we highlighted why they were able to either prolong their careers or that a player doesn't have to rely on their pace to be good at Football, but trust you to take it right out of context.

Mark Noble can read a game so well, you can't really compare the game now with the Bobby Moore era, but no one ever accused him of being slow, the respect Noble has at the club means so much especially with current players.

It's not an issue re Mark Noble .. it's more an issue that the club hasn't brought any youngsters through to the first team in 400 games .... and back slapping colleagues for basic defending doesn't make a great player, especially one that launches into tackles just outside the box and still has the inane propensity to pass sideways or backwards ....

'He only passes sideways or backwards'

Has the highest forward pass completion percentage at the club...

Can't be true Jack, it's all myths or people seeing only what they want to see and he's had to put up with it by a section of the crowd for 400 appearances now.

Anyone would think Nobes was a right c**t the way some of his own fans are so ready to pounce on him.

That little bit of skill, drop of the shoulder and pass to Ayew was fantastic, if only our Ghanaian midget had scored, great save mind.

I love Mark Noble. I do find it interesting, however, that a respected poster such as yourself has this view. It has made me question whether or not my claret & blue specs are too firmly attached.

He's neither as important or as useless as people make out on here. He's decent and a more than capable squad player. One thing is certain though, for us to progress his position is one of 4 or 5 places we need an upgrade in.

Quite right. The problem with debates like this is that you end up with a bunch of people arguing the opposite extreme viewpoints, and forgetting about all the possibilities between the two. He has to be great or rubbish. My view is that he's a decent player that's very useful to have in the squad, but not so good that his place in the first team should be guaranteed.

So what relevance does Mark Noble not playing yesterday have the to result? Was he going to catch the ****ing ball for their second?

FWIW I think Fernandes did well. Him and Noble at least give us once position in the team covered.

Was he in with the away fans yesterday?

Actually looked this up a few days ago. This is what I got:

West Ham without Noble this season:

Played – 5
Won – 0
Drawn – 1
Lost – 4
Scored – 7
Conceded - 12

West Ham without Noble since January 2015:

Played – 9
Won – 0
Drawn – 3
Lost – 6
Scored – 10
Conceded - 18

If you want since that Leicester game in 2014:

Played – 11
Won – 0
Drawn – 3
Lost – 8
Scored – 11
Conceded - 22
