Alas Nobes is from the Paul Scholes school of tackles
Not the end of the world though. We still got a point away & all players mess up occasionally

Was a red today, he got it wrong. A red by a mistake not a deliberate act of violent conduct or petulance. Honest mistake. He'll get pelted for it by some I'm sure; but he'll come back strong after a period of reflection like he always does.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Shame he got sent off. We had nobody to call all the defenders up for a free kick and then pass it short when he went off.

Slow to the ball and a mistimed challenge. Simple as that.
Would he have been quicker to it five years ago? That's perhaps worthy of debate.

no malice, the initial ball ran away from him and he tried to redeem himself.
similar challenges will get a yellow...but thought it was a red...studs up....
not like he went out and thought "I know, I'll commit a rash challenge while we're 1-0 away from home, and leave the team to play with 10 men for an hour or so...."
and part b Guv, no I don't think so, he has always had that type of challenge in him...just can't help himself..
Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Why would anybody be even slightly surprised by his card today? He does almost exactly that challenge pretty much every match. It does my head in cos I love him but his studs up, sliding tackles are always a red card waiting to happen.
Half the time he only gets away with it cos it’s so late he misses completely.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
More than happy with his performances this year. However, todays 'mishap' is once again a reminder of why he has never achieved his earlier promise. A great professional and West Ham servant but often his desire overwhelmes his natural basic attributes.
Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Made a very poor tackle today but you have to say it was not a surprise. Never been quick but getting slower and slower as time goes on. Even when he breaks out before the start of matches these days, it looks like he is running in setting cement. His time as a starting midfielder in the Premier League is coming to an end, not because he lacks skill but because his legs won't carry his body around as quickly as necessary at the top level in the modern game.

It was bad and he's got nobody to blame but himself.
I did however wonder how the elbow to Antonio's face wasn't more harshly dealt with. That was an aimed shot in the face.
