Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
The error was so big it undermined the good work he did do. I can't brush it under the carpet when it was so costly.
Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
You can't accept he's had a decent couple of games apart from that error?
Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
I would consider bringing Noble back. When he is in a battling mood he can be an asset and help others adopt the same mentality. He is capable of putting himself about.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
The argument in the 1st couple of games seemed to be that everything that was wrong could be laid at the feet of noble. He was the problem at the heart of the team. While he may not be the solution its fair to say the problems haven't gone away with leaving him out. I would say a revision of just exactly what was wrong in the early games may be in order.
Sanchez and wilshere are struggling with the same problems noble had, too many shirkers leaving too much to other people. Any team that puts themselves about makes us look a shambles. We need a few games against more lackadaisical players.

Did you notice that when Obiang was preparing to come on as sub. Mark was putting his arm around him, encouraging him. A noble gesture,I felt.

Central to our revival
Every time I see our skipper battle players said to be twice as good and on 4 times the salary, I scoff.
There won’t ever be a player ticking off these caps week in week out and, yeah, being local makes it mean more.

Doesn't say much for the rest of them then. If that's the yardstick

He's been very good the last 2 games and deserves the credit now as much as he did the stick when he was poor.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
Cup games and last 20mins to see a game out and we can get another year or possibly 2 out of him but Bellamy said it last week, he can't get around the pitch like the other athletes for 90mins, we need to spend £30ml+ in January on a replacement,
He's West ham through and through and the best, most consistent player we've had in the last 10 years, but he can't go on forever

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
The 'central to our revival' bit, the team as a whole has improved the last couple games, if you wanted to pinpoint one player as being central to that it would be just as easy to say we haven't lost since Yarmolenko came into the team, he Scored the goals to get our only win, or Diop and Balbuena beginning to settle. Personally I'd say having 3 in the middle has helped a lot and yeah of course Noble has been part of that but hes been no more impressive than Rice or Obiang.Doc H Ball wrote:

Wouldn’t argue with that mate, think you put it well.
I just love seeing him click up those caps in the face of all his destractors.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend
That completely contradicts today’s performance when he matched their three of Kovacic, Jorginho & Kante so I’m not buying that at all. He’s 31 not 41.Tristan Shout wrote:Cup games and last 20mins to see a game out and we can get another year or possibly 2 out of him but Bellamy said it last week, he can't get around the pitch like the other athletes for 90mins, we need to spend £30ml+ in January on a replacement,

He looks so much better in there with Obiang and Rice with Obiang doing the more box to box role of the two in front of Rice.
Noble played some great football, made key challenges and gave the odd tactical foul away when they looked to break.
A very composed performance from the skipper, appreciated with a standing ovation when he was subbed off. He clearly enjoyed that too which was great to see and well earnt.
