There's immense, generational potential in there. Poor us for not having the necessary people to mobilise that potential.

You can't blame Sam and Slav for him not being able to trap a ball and a dribbling technique that involved kicking it 5 yards in front of him and then running straight into a defender where he would then fall over, appeal forlornly in vain and then smile as he slowly got up as the opposition charged down the other end..........

Do you think they told him to shoot wide, be offside and fail to pick out his own teammates?

Enner sympathizers

When he was clean through at home to Domzale, that was incredible, he couldn't have f**ked it up more if he tried. It was at that point that the writing was on the wall him.

Not the best forward we've ever had on the books but certainly not the worst.

In recent times, when compared to Zaza or Maiga I'd say he contributed more than those two. He'll be remembered by me for his first season when partnering Sakho. Just a shame he couldn't continue that form.

Will ever forget those Allardyce balls launched to him from Ginge and Tomkins bypassing the midfield during a striker shortage. It must of put the fear of god into the poor sod.

Peace out, Enner.

Fair enough! I genuinely work with a guy who is a WH fan and has spent the last 3 years telling me that Valencia is technically the best striker we own. I have strongly disagreed with him quite often!

I spotted it a mile off

Anyway it's probably not surprising that only one club came in for Valencia. I suppose that is the wonderful thing about Tigres.*

I don't think that's the case, DL.
I think people find it funny that Enner didn't recognise Jack Sullivan.
Why he should recognise him is beyond me, but "Hey Ho".

I liked Enner. Things just never clicked for him but at times he looked decent (first half of 2014/15 with Sakho, and Christmas period 2015/16), and never went hiding.
We just weren't the right team, or probably right league for him, esp once his confidence was shot to bits.
It is rare for a south American to come straight to England and be a success without playing in amother European league first.
I hope he rekindles his career in Mexico and gets another crack in Europe (most likely in Spain)

Enner Valencia would look decent in MLS.

I thought Enner a strange signing when he joined but his initial impact with Sahko was great.
Don't think he ever fit with Slavs team and ultimately, his loan at Everton probably confirmed that he was n't suited to the league .
His highlight, the freekick at Bournemouth.
Good luck to the fella in the future.

Keep reading the last part of the thread title as 'deported', and thinking wow, he wasn't great but not bad enough to get escorted out the country..

Shame it never worked out, good luck Enner.

I watched an interesting video once about the great depression that hit America at the beginning of the 1920s. Well, it would have been a great depression other than the fact that the US President was quite ill at the time, and hence not much intervention took place, which meant that the depression was over in about a year, rather than five or ten.

If only Sam Allardyce had fallen victim to the same ailment around the time he accidentally stumbled across the thing of beauty that was our Valencia and Sakho setup.

I'd file Enner in the Lampard category of what ifs. If Lampard hadn't had season after season of indulgence when he was playing poorly as a youngster, then I really do doubt that his career would have developed as successfully.

If Enner had had more than a handful of games building up his confidence, goal tally and reputation as a pure poacher, without the encumbrance of a passing or holding game on the flank which did not suit him, then who knows, he could have ended up the £20m to £30m Hernandez-style striker that we initially thought he might become.

Such a shame. Arguably the greatest victim of the Allardyce scourge.

I went on one of those tours of the ground shortly before the end of the Boleyn. When we were told that the developer had plans to turn the centre circle into a quiet area, I mentioned to my friend that it must have been inspired by Sam.
