Re: Manuel Lanzini
It might be that Slaven has an eye for an attacking midfielder yet cant pick a decent defender.

Yes, I was led to believe that we not only had a first option agreement but we also have an option with an already agreed transfer fee.Penfold711 wrote:I thought we had a first option agreement in place or am I barking up the wrong tree?

you've obviously never dealt with a Arab company before!Penfold711 wrote:I thought we had a first option agreement in place or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Re: Manuel Lanzini
Why do people believe transfer stories when it comes to Liverpool. If they signed every player they was linked with by some ITK liverpool fan on twitter they would have the whole of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Germany league and a few decent Italians

Re: Manuel Lanzini
They've got form for doing us over, Mascherano when they reported the 3 rd party terms to FA and Yossi.
My money is on Lanzini still being with us in February though.

Well the only defender he's bought has been Ogbonna who has been very good. No idea what your argument is based on.irving boleyn wrote:It might be that Slaven has an eye for an attacking midfielder yet cant pick a decent defender.

David Sullivan makes a comment about Lanzini and the surrounding rumors on the website:
"We have an unbreakable option with both Lanzini and his club, so any other team's interest is irrelevant."

Re: Manuel Lanzini
Christ, those ****s are optimistic. He's already been to that revolting place at least once, so there's no way he'd be interested in moving there. If anything, he'll be concerned that maybe the East End isn't far enough away from L*verpool to be truly comfortable.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
The phrase 'gentlemans agreement' translates in Arabic to 'highest bidder wins'.BrownFatwa wrote: you've obviously never dealt with a Arab company before!
Fact.
Re: Manuel Lanzini
All joking aside there's nothing to be gained from speculation, we're all given to understand there was some sort of pre-agreement in place and he does look a fabulous player so id be pretty confident the club will do all they can to secure him come January.
That said unfortunately in this business money talks.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
I thought he had a really interesting game today.
Showed his class with the goal. However I also thought it was the first time he has looked lightweight in the prem.
I suspect it was a deliberate tactic from spurs to muscle up on him and it worked. He had some nice touches but overall goal aside and up till when Song came one didn't have much influence on the game.
Now that Payet is gone unfortunately you can bet that it won't be the last time he comes up against strong play. Up to him to work out a way to deal with it.
On a side note.. when we eventually get him, Payet and Song on the field together we're going to ooze class.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
Shame I missed the goal. After 82 mins of utter b*llocks I upped and left.
He fought well for a slightly built lad but Spurs out muscled him and virtually everyone out of the game today.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
Shows he's got some heart to stand out against the team performance today
Take no comfort from Sullivan's 'unbreakable' agreement statement as would expect human rights law to make that impossible....however pleased to hear Jinxed say he'll sign in January
Roma rumoured to be moving on his mate Iturbe in January - maybe worth a look to see if he could make a similar impact
