Re: Manuel Lanzini
Worked really hard and showed some intelligent play and nice touches, plus a goal and assist.
I hope he gets to play more, I really want to see him in an extended run.

Agreed. Think he has what it takes to be a real talent.Faubert's Boot wrote:Worked really hard and showed some intelligent play and nice touches, plus a goal and assist.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
- His name is Manuel Lanzini
- He's South American
- He's creative and has flair
- He doesn't weigh a lot
- He's quite short
- Went to the UAE to play for a season
I think when you initially add all those things up, it can be easy to think he'll be some sort of luxury player that you have to carry...
And by the looks of it, that couldn't be further from the truth! The energy in his performance and just the sheer discipline he maintained whilst offering loads going forward was amazing.
Small sample size obviously but off the back of that, I think we have a quality addition. Dare I say, he was a bit like our version of Coutinho.

My thought exactly - though unlike Coutinho he can tackle without getting sent off.

As well as his quick feet and skill, he made some fantastic tackles.

Totally agree Aztec, I thought he'd be another pointless punt but he looks bright, skilful, inventive and hungry. Hope he keeps it up.Aztec Hammer wrote:- His name is Manuel Lanzini

Re: Manuel Lanzini
He's obviously been working on his fitness , did everything that was asked of him yesterday , lots and lots of movement , harried the Liverpool player and the Linesman to help set up Noble for the second goal - hope we sign him up as a full time player .

He plays like a genie
When he walks down the street
Everyone that he meets
Says 'oi, Manuel, get back in school'.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
really good game from Manuel.
Still dont get why Nolan started the game against Bournemouth before him.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
I dont think he was fully up to speed. Bilic clearly sent him to play in the development squad to get him ready and up to speed with the english game. Otherwise surely would have come on at half time for Nolan when Jarvis diddjoe wrote:really good game from Manuel.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
Really pleased for him, had bags of potential in South America before wasting a season out here. Couldn't have wished for a better start scoring after 3 mins and just seemed to be buzzing from then on.
He got my vote for MOM, worked his socks off, has genuine pace, made some good tackles, picked out some nice passes, comfortable running at players and was always positive with the ball at his feet.
Dream debut for the lad, hope he can kick on from here and become a regular.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
To be best man on the pitch (together with Ogbonna) in his full debut and at Anfield! Killing that 52 year spell. Something to remember!

Re: Manuel Lanzini
He's going to be good for us, I can sense it, got a fantastic work ethic, loved what he did for the second goal, real determination.
That is all I ask of any West Ham player.
