It doesn't seem to work that way during the season, mate.
He'll have been under the fitness bods throughout rather than on a battered cod and chips diet and a six week bender in Vegas, and he'll get his match fitness in proper games - same way they are doing it with Carroll mid season.
A couple of behind closed doors/U23s games and then he'll be on the bench - 15 mins first game, 30 the second, 45 the third or similar.

Pretty sure he was included in the ‘new signings’ budget for Summer 15, January 16 and Summer 16

Careful what you say. The Sheff Utd lawyers are probably monitoring our transfers still

If we beat Wimbledon and get a kind game in Round 5, he'll play.

Can’t wait to have him back in the team. We’ve missed him a lot.

With how quick things change in football I'm just hoping I get the chance to see Lanzini, Anderson and Yarmolenko all on the pitch at the same time. A month ago I would have included Arnie in that, but that now looks a bit wishful thinking. Still, I'd be satisfied with the 3 mentioned. Just gotta get 2 back firing after really bad injuries and hang onto the third over the summer months

I'm slightly surprised his recovery has been this quick, injury was very bad.
However its excellent news and cant wait to see him back on the pitch. If we can get him in the squad for 10 games or so he could add those extra points to push for Europe.

As long as we don't rush him, will games help him?
I'd be tempted to keep him under wraps for the rest of the season, give him a full pre season and start a fresh next season.
Obviously the physios/surgeon's know better than me, but it was a bad injury, I'd hate to risk him for a few games at the tail end of the season.
I bet he is chomping at the bit to get back though

Not too surprised that Lanzini has started training with the first team already.
He has been out since early June, so for 8 months.
Athletic startlet Oihan Sancet suffered a similar injury early September, and he'll be back on the pitch this season, probably April (8 months).
Lanzini was 'fortunate' enough to get injured at the end of the previous season. He should be able to play 10+ games this season, and if fit, sold in the summer

IF we secure 7th and Europe then we will have a great chance of progressing in it

I'm quite happy to let the lad rest until the 85th minute of the FA Cup final, personally.
He can channel some inner Ricky Villa in the last knockings, grab the winner and instantly receive elevation to heroic status.
Happy to help.
