I know we still got to play Birkirkara tomorrow night but I am looking forward to this one, nice little ground The Valley and hopefully we will take plenty of support and Slaven plays the big guns.
Be nice to Hammer them also, seeing the crap they have brought up with respect to OS.

Goin tomorrow aswell, first trip to the valley since they done us 4-2 with Dicks having a bit of a nightmare, showing he weren't ever gna be the same player after the injuries. Hopefully a good performance to make us realise yesterdays team was jus the back ups and were gonna be ok

With the next Euro qualifier less than a week away and the bulk of rest of the squad making their way back from Malta, you can be sure what you will see will be the development squad in action once again. Any of our new players may get 30/ 45 minutes

Bang on. No moaning after the game lads about spending so much to watch a different team to what you were for some reason expecting.Puff Daddy wrote:With the next Euro qualifier less than a week away and the bulk of rest of the squad making their way back from Malta, you can be sure what you will see will be the development squad in action once again. If any first teamers are going to get a game it could be tomorrow, it's Norwich away on Tuesday that may well be another West Ham XI. Or possibly both. Or maybe neither. Who know's? Feck it, let's all have a beer.

Charlton - first team players and new signings who didn't play Thursday,
Norwich - the reserves/kids with the odd Euro banned player
Astra - the first team

Re: Charlton Athletic v West Ham United - Match Thread
Id be stunned if this was another game for the Academy.
Charlton would dump all over them if it was, and that would have very negative results.
Hence, I think we are going to see a mix of the following
Charlton: New Signings, Non playing at Birakaka, Academy Players.
Norwich: Ineligible players (Tomkins/Sakho?), squad players for astra, youth players.
We are getting closer to the 8th August.

Purchased a ticket yesterday & it arrived today, Cheers West Ham/Royal Mail for once!
Really looking forward to tomorrow, never been to The Valley before either, I'm expecting a similar team to Southend.

The designated pub will be the Antigallican on the corner of the main road near to the ground. Personally, If I were going to North Greenwich station, I would walk about 400 yards to the Pilot Inn. Nice beer. Food and Garden, then jump on a bus to Charlton station (about a mile). Alternatively the Anchor, right by the river in Anchor and Hope Lane is good.

It's the Anchor and Hope for me. Antigallican is close to the ground but that's about all it has going for it. I grew up in Welling so this one is personal for me, the rest of my family are Charlton. Their expecting a crowd of about 8k including us so hopefully a seat by the river and no queues at the bar.

I expect a similar quality of team to the one that played at Southend.Puff Daddy wrote:With the next Euro qualifier less than a week away and the bulk of rest of the squad making their way back from Malta, you can be sure what you will see will be the development squad in action once again. No real reason for those that travelled but didn't play on Thurs and those who were banned/not registered to swerve this this match.
