Bilic said: "I'm sure they are very appreciated by the fans. The people who live for West Ham know how good the chairmen are for the club and how much they invest.

"It's better for the club to be run by someone who knows the history, the environment, the business part of it, someone who is not going gung-ho.

"Those clubs and those chairmen should be praised," he added. "Because it's not easy to resist those kind of offers. They should at least be appreciated, from the fans and from the whole of football."

Sullivan and Gold have invested heavily this summer in Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez and still hope to land Portugal midfielder William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon.

They also tied down key defender Winston Reid to a new six-year contract on Friday, keeping him at the club until 2023.

Bilic thinks that Manuel Lanzini will stay at the club amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool

West Ham are still short of being able to compete with the inflated fees paid by major clubs, but Bilic insists money is not everything.

"Not every takeover is like Manchester City, or Paris St Germain, some takeovers didn't go that good," he explained.

"It's not a guarantee, some things you can't buy. You can't buy mentality, you can't buy tradition and you can't buy time.

"I don't care about the others," Bilic said. "But West Ham is on the right way and I think everyone connected with the club knows the chairmen are doing their best within the budget."

Shows us what Bilic thinks of them and a lot of it is right. People like to make out like they're world's apart on things at the Club yet the truth of the matter is they appreciate one another.

Cringed reading that from Bilic.

"They should be appreciated from the fans and the whole of football". They are charlatans.

I'm absolutely convinced that the owners ultimately only care about their profit they stand to make once they sell the club. For that purpose of course they need to spend a bit of money to protect their investment (common business sense), with the minimum requirement of staying in the league.

They are earning a nice bit of interest on the side too. If they are genuine fans, why haven't they put some of their real estate in their portfolio on the market and used that money to help with West Ham's cash flow or to put deals for players over the line ? Instead of burdening the club's finances with payday loans ?

Maybe it is wise to have owners who won't go overboard financially, but I think they are simply not happy spenders. Which is alright if you are content with keeping a club afloat.
It doesn't get you to the next level though, no matter how big your stadium is...

Rocket, that Twitter work by CC is gold. Thank you for cheering me up. I should look at that twice a week or at least before every game so as never to have false hope. It is the hope that kills.

He's not exactly going to slag off his employers to the national press, is he? That interview doesn't tell us anything.

Perhaps you should get out more. I believe most supporters are, at worst, ambivalent about the board. Bilic, who many on here site as a 'Victim' of the board and should speak out, then does just that however, he relays a positive view. Now he should shut up and/or is spineless and only trying to save his job!

I think SuGo  must be in a cold sweat over these transfer prices and realising they are way out of their depth. From being able 5 years ago to loan club £50m and it make a massive difference that willl now buy you 2 ok players if you're lucky.Just seen Spurs are about to buy sessegnon for £28m he is 17 ffs,it's gone totally crazy and only likely to get worse. They must wish they could just get out now I'm pretty sure of it.

That's an incredibly naive statement from you CNR. If you truly believe your words then I'm afraid you shouldn't be a football supporter in these times.

I look forward to you issuing a statement to a baying media condemning your employer

Can't speak for Marky, but I get out plenty thanks, Manchester last week, Southampton yesterday, Cheltenham on Wednesday. Each time speaking to many West Ham fans. None of them gush about the board the way Bilic did in that article.

Look - they're his employers ... what else would you have him say? It's not great PR to alienate one of the three sets of people that make a club tick. A huge number of people think they are taking the piss out of us, but they did stick their own money in in the first place so charging 7% interest but not taking repayments as banks would do could be viewed as being generous ...

Not every club will be playing in the 50m plus land of stupidity, those clubs will get found out at some point as the gravy train that is Sky can not last forever .. could you imagine what might happen if demand drops due to higher box prices or lack of interest going to games ?

That's one of the most - hey you stupid here are some eggs to suck- posts I've had the pleasure to be on the end of for some time. Thanks for the laugh, even if it was unintentional.

Anyway, to answer your points,

I imagine the number of football managers who would slag off their current employers could be counted on one finger.

I don't agree with those who think they are being generous, If the owners started repaying their loan what do they do with that money, where are going to be able to re invest it in order to get a guaranteed return of 7%. I'd say the generosity of the bank of Gold & Sullivan is to themselves not the club

And when the gravy train of Sky runs out, and I think it is likely to as well, Gold & Sullivan wont be seen for dust, assuming they are not already dust themselves.
