Why can't he just keep his f*cking mouth shut, like just about every other chairman/owner out there?

Hernandez will be going to some to be a better buy for West Ham than Billy Bonds was.

Yh. You can find the full interview on the transfer thread. Worth a listen in my opinion.

The more Sullivan opens his mouth, the less popular he gets (and vice versa). Seeing as he seems so keen on adulation, it's a shame he hasn't twigged this.

Respect levels for the pair of Daves was as high as it has been in ages just after the Hernandez announcement last night. It’s sad that Sullivan always insists on mouthing off and milking any credit he can get, rather than having a bit of class and dignity.

After last night's buzz from signing Hernandez and thinking we've actually had a decent transfer window, I was brought back down to earth this morning after listening to Sullivan on TalkSPORT. Particularly when he tried to counter Jim White's stat that since Gold and Sullivan have come in they've had 33 strikers where a big proportion (20 I think) did not score more than three goals at West Ham. 'Hang on Jim, you have to remember a lot of them were 6 month loan deals.' Who's decision was it to bring in these loan deals then Dave? incredible. It also did wind me up when he spoke about 'taking a punt' on Mido a few seasons back as well, made me remember who we actually have in charge of this football club.

Just listened back, he said "potentially he is the best player to ever come to the club....... in recent years he could be the best goalscorer"

So while it was accurate he kind of corrected himself later

History started in 2007

Are any club owners genuinely loved by all the fans?

They may not be perfect but they could be a whole lot worse.

Be grateful I say and look forward to this season.

When Gold and Sullivan bought us, their only real competition was Tony Fernandes.

We've just signed Hernandes. How are QPR doing?

They play in their traditional, proper, football ground.

They're winning

Meaningless

How would QPR be doing under Gold & Sullivan. How would West Ham be doing under Fernandes. How would West Ham be doing if we had Leicester City's owners. No one knows.

If that was the only way to measure success, yes.

But of course there's a whole lot more than that. Most hammers are ridiculously excited fort he new season to start.

Of course you can't map it directly, as there are too many other factors, but the one thing we can go in is the reality of Championship side QPR right now vs us.

We can't know how it might have been with Fernandes, perhaps when we were 4th at Xmas 2014 and Big Sam went for funds, he might have got them and we would have won the League ? Or more likely Xmas 2015, again 4th, all the clouds aligned and Leicester did it. If our owner would have put their hands in their pockets, who knows what may have occurred.

I'm still not convinced on the DGS. Last season (when already the bloated TV money was banked), they gave us a rubbish transfer window, this season an increased spend, but surely we could have done better last ? Will it be alternate years of great/terrible windows, they are just not comparable ? Finally, I'm disappointed to hear them say Payet, whom they did anything for, is now a flawed character, exactly how does that endear to the current staff & future staff ?

No doubt if Hernandez doesn't work out, he'll be quick enough to say Slav wanted Hernandez and he wanted to buy whoever the in-form striker is at the time he is being interviewed

1st May 2018, Iheanacho has 18 league goals, Hernandez has 4. Nailed on.

A flawed character? Who ain't?

I reckon Arnie makes Payet look like someone who's found Nirvana.

Genuinely, can you have worse luck as a fan for a team our standing/heritage?
