Twist.
Been saying that since these "supporters" chased the OS to line their own pockets. Tonight is just another example of it all being about lining their own pockets. We're just a financial opportunity to them - nothing more, nothing less - and it's laughable others have tried to argue differently in the past.

Half and half YWN, me thinks. The first team really hasn't been improved, has it? Not really. And the summer transfer window started so promising.Yea Why Not wrote: Billic is the manger now. I don't fully buy this 'he has his hands tied' stuff tonight.
Bilic could have taken a few fringe first teamers tonight, like Jarvis and Amalfitano. He'll have to take the flack for that.
So, I don't think Bilic's hands were completely tied tonight, but wait until the Xmas run in when we are patching a team together. Then the whole January transfer frenzy will start again for us
As Pinks said many times before last season, we just don't have that much quality in the squad to comfortably challenge for a top ten place. I still think this is the case

even though i'm bitter over our european exit..stick of course, I'd rather suffer these two and their weird/clumsy media outlets than any eggy or foreign sheikh who fancies us for 2 years and then leaves us bankrupt.

They lack the brains balls and imagination to run a club of this stature.Birmingham is more their level.I wouldn't put it past them to sell us to some dodgy crooks like they done at their previous club. They cannot be trusted to run a bath let alone our football club.

Bilic competed in Europa well enough with Besiktas, and he was expected to challenge for the domestic title at the same time.
What's changed here? The instructions he has been given. That's my guess.

Re: Gold/Sullivan Stick or Twist
Gold/Sullivan clearly are fantastic businessmen and the club would struggle to find safer conservative hands but the problem with them is that is not the perception they want us to have of them so they love to hype their ambitions to deflect this.
People bang on about how much they have spent but every penny that I am sure was spent with the motivation to keep us out of trouble because any opportunity to go beyond that simply doesn't happen despite the stories they like to spin, they had a chance in January to gamble they didn't, then with the change of manager a chance to progress they didn't and now this summer in the transfer market to really push on well surprise, surprise despite the apologist who say wait until the window believe I am positive we will look back and say they didn't.
In BFS they had a ready made scapegoat for their lack of real ambition and if West Ham fans agree that our aims should not be to go beyond Premier League survival then I doubt that they have little to worry about but for the rest of us just don't build up your hopes too high.

There's a question I'd love to ask Dave, Dave and Karen -
Would you rather lose out on moving to the OS or see us relegated?

Gold and Sullivan also gave us Avram Grant and relegation.
They have also been unable to find a striker better than Carlton Cole.
The price increases this year and the insistence on a down-payment for the OS is also cynical tax on loyalty.

To think where we were as a football club when they took over to where we are now
This thread is embarrassing
How many clubs of our standard with our turnover have given their managers close to £65 million in the last few years to spend on their attack?
On a night like tonight a strong manager tells the owners who runs the team. There is zero proof that the owners didn't want us in the Europa League. To me it looks like Billic didn't fancy his chances as a first time Premiership boss juggling the competition

better than Cole?! how about Sakho you daft peg!?

Re: Gold/Sullivan Stick or Twist
Twist, and as soon as possible please.
Despite some superficial feelings of excitement about the OS, I know in my heart that it is not a good football stadium, and we all know why we've been taken in this direction.
It's all a question of being honest with ourselves: we can try to persuade ourselves that life at the OS will be bright, filled with exciting attacking football that will terrify visiting clubs who will be overawed by the magnificence of the surroundings, the intimidating atmosphere and the waves of relentless attacking football...
Do we really believe this though? I think G&S have no real interest in any of this, and it isn't going to happen if they don't have the footballing ambition to make it happen. And, patently, they don't.

Re: Gold/Sullivan Stick or Twist
Allardyce took a lot of stick on their behalf over the last 4 years. Will be interesting to see if they can remain out of the firing line now they've hired a more popular manager.
If we don't get much from the first 3 games and they carry on fudging transfers things are going to get bad quickly.

Re: Gold/Sullivan Stick or Twist
Oil money you really need to be better informed!! Oil money from who from the Qataris who bought the World Cup corrupted pretty much everyone who could be corrupted and are responsible for creating chaos in both Libya and Tunisia and Syria and indirectly financing the terrorists that killed 30 Brit tourists in Sousse? Or maybe the Saudis or maybe the Russains, we've got pretty decent owners and I for one have no issue with being financed by a porn empire?West Ham Matt wrote:Twist.
A pair of shysters.
I'm praying we get some oil money in the next few years.
Give the Daves a little more time and I'm sure we'lll be competing with Arsenal / Chelsea etc. and hopefully doing it with owners who have lived in East London and understand West Ham.
Tonight was a good performance by the youngsters and Nolan its hard to understand why the Daves are getting such a hard time. We've still got a full season ahead of us and the two cups!

Re: Gold/Sullivan Stick or Twist
There are reasons to dislike them. Personally, I stick because I think they're ok, do have the best for the club at heart and we can see from other owners in this country that there are a lot worse out there. Some joke about their business acumen, but in a way I think we're lucky they aren't oil magnates as this way we are not part of a ridiculous portfolio of businesses across the world. We are not little to them, and thus our suffering would affect them financially, rather than just an asset that dropped.Yea Why Not wrote:I'd like to think a lot of people on this thread have been out boozing tonight

This. Thanks boys but time to sell up. You have no ambition to win anything. Your only ambition is to remain in the PL. Time to make way for someone who feels we can stay in this league whilst still giving the cups a go.Slavish wrote:If we outgrew Allardyce, we've also outgrown the Daves.
