Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
changing managers seems to work for Watford. they played with desire, passion energy and skill against spurs in a lovely old ground with fans near the pitch. all the things we don't have.
MP wont last 3 years maybe not this season. then what ? whilst we are in limbo with the stadium we can never progress or get back to being west ham.
gsb will continue to make money as STs sell out every year and they have the sky money. the only way is to boycott matches large scale and show waste areas of the ground empty.
this will affect the team some may say, but can they play any worse ?

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
T TS has got it ,as far as I'm concerned.
In fact, in many ways, the crap start to the season has been a blessing, a couple of wins would have masked the true situation as he's laid it out...very much in the same way as the final season at the Boleyn did precisely the same thing.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
That's because they have a long term plan and pick their managers/coaches to suit the plan, not the other way round.hammerman11 wrote:changing managers seems to work for Watford. they played with desire, passion energy and skill against spurs in a lovely old ground with fans near the pitch. all the things we don't have.
?
Our long term.plan seems to involve a massive panic around January.
As for their stadium, we used to think their gaff was a complete and utter **** hole back in the day, now it's called 'a lovely old ground'.
Is this how far we have fallen?

^^^ Is the tide turning, where the press feel they have more to gain by putting the boot in than by cosying up to Sullivan?
Let's hope so.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
I remember watching season review videos in my youth and seeing games like Watford & Chelsea away when the fans were miles away from the pitch in the late 80s/early 90s.
Used to think, thank god that’s not us! How things can change

A damning article. Makes me feel embarrassed, angry and upset. The club is a joke and we fans deserve better.

Our scouting and training infrastructure is a joke. But under these old tight dinosaurs what do you expect?

Laughable...
Not sure why Mark Noble thinks it’s not a circus anymore. Looks like we are a Zippo’s franchise thriving in nonsense.
Reading that article makes me angry and worried.

No surprise to hear this. The football side of the club seems very unprofessional which for a multi million pound business is startling.Hammer.CA wrote:The owners will love this,

Need to look at clubs like Brentford who have a clear and cohesive plan and ethos in place for them to compete now and in the future.

Whereas ours is a handful of scouts, a transfer policy of relying on a few tips from a handful of agents punting their players around and a state of the art training ground. I say state of the art advisedly because of its bloody terrible statethewhirlwind wrote:

I just find it astonishing that two pornographers who made their fortunes exploiting women, and their mate’s overpromoted daughter are doing a poor job of running a football club.

Embarassng and pitiful from a premier league club , our mob should hang their heads in shame but they have no shame and certain,y have no idea how to run a proffesional football club.
We are ****ed because along with investment in the squad and also the infrastructure they have not the stomache or the will to improve it.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
It breaks my heart to see what we have become, this joke shell of a club which seems to have flipped the values of the club I fell in love with. Being West Ham come with its values and morals and this I felt set us apart from most clubs.
West Ham was never about Champions League or title challenges (although it would be nice), it was about our values and morals, playing good football if we could along the way. We have never been particularly successful, yo-yo club with a flirt of either success or failure along the way.
For a mediocre club we have had to deal with a lot over the years, that is the West Ham way!
The owners who have rocked up and saved this club.... I would rather had administration then face the consequences of their actions to date. We could still have our identity, still being peoples second club.
We have morphed into this entity shaped by two hammers with London written underneath. The badge I don't have a problem with however, I now see it as a symbol of the club we have become... this plastic razzle dazzle joke of a club.
I begrudgingly understand the move to a point, if we are to become a 'bigger' club then we need funding. More revenue and potential investment is significantly important in moving up the table. They however, saw this whole thing as a cash cow and have not backed their promises. Point is we didn't need to become bigger, we didn't need to press the button, there are clubs 'smaller' than us currently above us in the league.
I don't want to go over the same points over and over again, it has been done to death but again, today in the papers there is more questions about the leadership of this club. There seems very little to be happy about these days, and it has got worse over the last few years.
They are not owners with a club at its heart and don't ever believe it is, it has been a free stadium irrespective of being suitable for football and providing an enjoyable match day experience and the opportunity to rebrand a club to fit into a London corporate scene . If they truly love the club as much as they claim (crossed arms pics etc.) then they are truly incompetent owners and need to sell for the good of their club because they have done the exact opposite of people with the clubs interest at heart. If their actions have genuinely been for the good of the club then it shows they are out of their depth and do not have the right acumen to follow up such grand plans.
The stadium move could have launched us into a big club, they took the cheap option with self interest and that is why we will not progress under this group. They turned the screw with the owners of the stadium trying to get the best deal and yet that has left us with a party we cannot deal with, to the point where there are legal challenges, arguments about the colour of the surround around the pitch and cannot display a sign showing our triumphs!

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
The club have responded to yesterday's article. I'm not sure if they think the 3 pictures they've posted are supposed to impress and the comment that the owners have spent £10 million in the last 2 years but the pictures don't give that impression to me and I find this 'ensures we have some of the best facilities in the country' quote hard to believe.Hammer.CA wrote:The owners will love this,

By comparison, Leicester's planned new training facility is on a 150 acre site at a proposed cost of £80 million, still at least our ground is wonderful.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
I worked for the architects who designed Spurs, Brighton and Liverpool’s training grounds, and they are currently working on Leicesters. I was privileged (if that’s the correct term) to have a tour of the spuds facilities shortly before it opened 5/6 years ago, iirc. Believe me, it’s stunning. The whole ethos behind it being that it’s somewhere where you WANTED to spend the day training, and was intended to impress any potential new signing whether it be seasoned pro or promising youngster. If the shysters at our club truly believe that they’ve provided facilities suitable for a modern-day premier league club then it’s yet more proof (if it were needed) that they really are delusional and totally out of their depth. Splashing a coat of paint on the walls and providing more astroturf in the hallway? Yet more proof of their parsimony and total, absolute ineptitude.
C***s, all of them!
