Pickford wasn't excellent last season, he had loads to do. He also made mistakes. He's carried on this season. If he was a thirty year old Romanian nobody would give a f**k about him. Hypejob.

Considering how much he has to do, he made very few mistakes.

Everton fans will tell you the same...

I'm still picking myself off the floor having read someone thinks Bravo is a better keeper than Adrian. Just don't tell me Rennie was a better referee than Clattenberg or I might just not recover next time.

I agree with Penfold and share Jumby's love for our wonderful Spaniard. You could see today when he was celebrating the goals with the fans how he gets us. I love him :scarfer:

Great save today from the deflected free kick. Great to see Adrian back to his best. Happy to say I was wrong about him at the start of the season.

Really hope he is offered a new contract as soon as possible. Just like last season him coming back into the side has made a huge difference and imho has given a huge confidence boost for the defenders.

when we have adrian in goal, i never think we're going to concede from a direct free kick. doesn't even raise the heart rate when they're lining up to take one.

If he wasn't offered a new contract I'd dread to think what cheap s**t the board would have lined up. Adrian is the best signing they've ever made, a goalkeeper as good as we could ever wish for, for free. Our sub keeper cost 6m to have on loan for the season.

To think he was signed as cheap backup to Jussi!

The players in front of him probably think the same.

Twice he's been dropped for lengthy periods, and twice he's come back stronger.

No one can doubt the man's love for our club :scarfer:

If you stop just looking at the saves he makes and study his movement, his footwork, his decision making, his positioning and organisation, what you will see is a very average goalkeeper. When you next watch David De Gea and Hugo Lloris, what you will see is the number of shots that seemingly go straight at them. This too, is not what it appears to be. It is not so much poor shooting, but exceptional positioning by the goalkeepers, who have the wherewithal to follow the play, spot the runs of fowards, organise their defenders by predicting their movements and bellowing out instructions accordingly, so when the shooting chance materialises, they are waiting. That takes exceptional organisation and coaching too. Goalkeepers like Adrian and Hart too, who are seen leaping all around their goal and making saves with their legs make these saves because they lack all the attributes it takes that make a very top GK. Next season, I hope we sign a new GK who is not merely a two a penny shot stopper like Adrian

Puff

We all know that Adrian isn't as good as the French or Spanish number ones.

But, it's also a given that they never have to play behind such creaky defences such as ours.
