Maybe Jinxyboy could clear up his contract situation? I for one rate Adrian very highly, and hope he stays.

A great signing by Big Sam.
Since 1990 imo

1/ Ludo Miklosko
2/ Adrian
3/ Rob Green
4/ Shaka
5/ David James

We've had some quality keepers over the years :)

Adrian is an outstanding Keeper & fully deserves a new deal.

I wasn't Green's biggest fan but he was definitely a better all round keeper than Adrian

Adrian makes a meal out of simple tasks far too often and for me that's why he isn't a first choice top level keeper

Top five from the last 25 years or so,

1 - Adrian
2 - Ludo
3 - Bernard Lama
4 - David James
5 - Robert Green

All of those five were/are international class.

Jumbo  So you're saying we're currently in the best position we've been in for 15 years goalkeeper wise?!

Am a great fan of Adrian - but to compare him with Ludo - who one season won us promotion, yes, a goalie - is a bit of a stretch.

Really hope Adrian stays.
If not, and Swansea go down, their keeper Fabianski would be a good call.

Not sure that's a good yardstick there is tons of Spainish player that are very good that have no had caps, even bleeding Gabi for Atheltico hasn't got a cap and his played tons of game for a team that has won the league, reached two champions league finals which he started both

In the the Premier League era, Shaka Hislop easily makes my top 3. Gets tricky between him, Adrian and Ludo with Green just missing out.

It was a shame we couldn't get Jasskaleinen when he was much younger.

We've got our best goalkeeper since Phil Parkes, so yes, in terms of first choice, I honestly do. Reserve wise no, the mid to late 90's is when we were at our best in that department, Ludo, Lama & Forrest all played for us and all played well.

I also seem to remember Ian Fuer being a more than able back up keeper for us. Not that he played much though.

Back in the squad, 3 clean sheets on the bounce, I feel the back line has that little extra bit of confidence knowing his between the sticks.

Big love for the matador

I really like Adrian as a character and agree that his return has been a major factor in securing safety but, as a former keeper myself, I think that some of the comments about him being one of the best we've had are way wide of the mark.

I don't think that he is a top keeper and his amazing save with his foot last night, strangely enough, shows why because he should never have needed to make the save at all. The initial shot from Kane bounced off his wrists/ chest when it should have been easily gobbled up. Then, from the resulting corner, he paddled Dier's header around the post for a corner, putting us under more pressure, when again it should have been comfortably pouched.

Sorry to be negative on such a day and I would love to see him as a back up keeper, but I still think we need a top quality No.1.

100% disagree.

Media love to 'Big up' certain keepers over the years like Harte, Lloris & Cech..but cannot no more as they make f**k ups that cost goals once every 4 or 5 games. Harte was playing awful for Man City & looks like it hasn't improved much in Italy, Lloris a good keeper but tends to makes some right dodgy decisions( messed up for Chelsea 1st in FA Cup Semi) & Cech in games drops crosses, spills shots in many games this season. I wouldn't swap Adrian for any of them.

Adrian, could be an argument that he 'messed up' when he spilled the ball & saved the Sp*rs shot with his legs. But his overall performance was outstanding. Marshalled the defence, distribution was good, couple of really good saves (Son Heung chance) & our defence look so much more organised with him in Goal.

Great Keeper. A real West Ham character.

Fully deserves a new contract.

I was all for Adrian leaving but he has earned a new contract for me.. he deserved to be benched at the time and it has had the desired affect

I would like to see us getting him to sign a new contract and sign Ruddy as back up (better than randolph)

Adrian back with three consecutive clean sheets...
Ginger Pele back to his imperial best...
Reid with a timely return after a month out...
Jose Fonte, a world class defender growing into the team with every game.

Plus:

Calleri improving in leaps and bounds
Arthur showing what a brilliant all round footballer he is...
Noble simply being Noble, captain and our inspiration...
Cheik a rock at the heart of the team...
Ayew running his balls off each and every game...
Sam looking like a proper right back...
Aaron looking sharp and focused again

...and finally...

Manu, the talent that just keeps giving...

And next year we have Obi-on-Kenobi back and Oggie, Oggie, Oggie back and wio knows, maybe we can even resurrect Andy and Diaf!

All we need now is to stop all this silly nonsense about getting shot of Super Slav and we will be home and dry next season. Top six? Why not!

You wonderful Irons :scarfer:
