Sorry but to say Hart has been made a scapegoat and only been responsible for one goal this season is a load of piffle. You don't have the number of goals we've conceded this season just down to the defence. It should also be pointed out that organising the defence is very much the role of the GK.

In addition I would say that all too frequently Hart concedes the sort of goal that he maybe could have have saved but it isn't a guaranteed save, so you don't blame him for it, but at the same time, you don't expect it to go in every time. (For example all of the slightly speculative shots low to his left that more often than not, go in.)

hart has been average at best. he has a weakness down to his left side which us fans know so I would expect all coaches to be aware.

Adrian has the jersey now.

long may he keep the clean sheets coming during this important period for us

sorry but if anything is piffle that is.. Hart was exposed by a team that was very gun-ho both defensively and in the midfield..

palace was a fine example.. man of the match performance but let down by the team even in the last min with the ball getting from the oppo goal keeper all way to back of our net without anyone of ours throwing their body in front of the ball

that wouldnt happen now.. you can see defensive dutys are important under moyes. there seem to be 2 defenders on every man at times.

there were many on here who would not give hart a fair chance due to the love in with adrian .. hart is a decent keeper and will play a role for us im sure.. adrian does look back to his best so will be hard for him to get into the team again though.

Hart vs everton goal is the only one you can say 100% his fault no1 else.. but the other goals have been from poor defending as a team leaving him exposed.

Its a fine margins debate, within which confidence becomes a key factor; indeed confidence in the keeper's mind...and in the minds of his defensive colleagues.

It doesn't help to go through the goals we've conceded and point or absolve of individual blame, but, to look from a wider perspective, Hart had not kept a clean sheet in over 20 consecutive club appearances, before he joined us.

That, to me, in a keeper who kept them as routine, with City, speaks of a confidence issue for the player himself. Much as the summer game against the sweaties did, too. A pair of almost identical goals.

West Ham wasn't the place to play back into confidence.

No sane owner would have squandered so much money on having Joe Hart for a season when you have a keeper as good as Adrian, and a squad that needed improving elsewhere.

I have to agree with you there

Randolph wasnt a bad back up keeper at all..

so much wages on hart...

did we just get him for his name? to try and attract bigger players.. because the names we got in the summer were Zabs , Arnie. Hernandez and Hart all proven premier league.. did we sign hart to help get hernandez and arnie across the line?

id of spent the money better personally but not my cash

Right from the start I always said that Hart was a vanity signing. I think I've made it very clear for years now of how highly I rate Adrian so I just didn't understand this at all. We got good money for Randy but we've thrown it all up the wall to have Joe Hart on loan for a season. The only thing that is good about the Hart signing is that we now know, without question, that Adrian is the one.

The best goalkeeper in the league, after De Gea, and he cost us nothing. Best bit of business those c***s ever did, despite their best attempts to f**k it all up.

So glad he is back in the squad, if for nothing else it shows what happens when you put faith in a player that clearly loves the club :scarfer:

4 games back, only 2 goals conceded, neither his fault and both of those goals by the soon to be Champions of England.

So damn glad to have him back.

Anyone know if we can cut the loan deal for Hart short?

Absolutely horrendous loan deal. Waste of time & money.

'Money' that could free up an extra signing in the January transfer window.

Give it up with this Hart only responsible for one goal. We ain't got a blindfold on when we see Hart concede goals he should have saved. He was should have saved one of the Southampton goals. 2 nd game of the season. Utter lies to suggest he has been blameless until 2 weeks ago. As already stated he has huge mobility issues his left hand side. Stop blaming others players you Hart fan boys. You are not kidding anyone.

Part of a solid backline at present - well done to him to come back as he has after a difficult 18 months

A astonishing stat is in the games with Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke there have only be 2 shots on target on our goal. We had 12 in those games (albeit 7 today)

I'm not convinced that it would be any different with Hart in his place... but it's certainly not a theory that needs testing. Adrian is doing everything that is asked of him

Great competition to have

One of the things that has struck me has been just how much more confident the defence have looked with Adrian behind them.
