Poor steward got hit by a flare or banger too. Big trouble for Croatia I think

What caused that? They are winning and then kickoff - imposters in their colours? Very strange.

WTF are the security doing at these games? Twice now we've had flares set off at games. I suppose we're lucky it's only flares so far and not anything more dangerous.

Clattenburg gives a penalty, hand was up but often not given. The Croats will have something to 'kickoff' about now. Talk about undeserved.

It was a pen. Can't see how you can't give it. But yeah, no consistency from Clattenberk.

UEFA/Franch FA need to seriously look at themselves for the security - 1 fare is too many, 10 or so, is a major problem.

The above aside, what a crazy thing from the Croatian fans. have cost their team big time there. Would anybody be surprised to hear it was Russian fans in the crowd :hush:

Also, why were the police just stood watching, whilst about 5 stewards tried to break up the fights?!

Stupid penalty to give away, but I can't blame the players for losing their heads after seeing their fans behave like that.

Modric being subbed changed that game totally.

Rhetorical question: Is Gary Linekar the biggest ****er on the planet?

I didn't see that coming. Czech Republic were absolute pants for 75 minutes and when they started to get a bit of a foothold in the game, I changed sides and hoped they would get something out of it. They are still rubbish though and sorry, I don't get it about Croatia. They look distinctly ordinary to me

Maybe I am being sensitive, I am not known for it, but I felt his comments regarding the Croation 'flair' and the supporter use of 'flares' as being wholly inappropriate given that the guy that fell to the floor had a french banger, or a flare, explode very close to his face. He could very easily have been blinded in one eye or permanently disfigured.

Mr Smug just tries too hard to be funny, but sadly never succeeds.

And on that note I made a complaint to the BBC. Please can more people do this. I would love to see the back of that sanctimonious cretin.

Yes the Czechs were well back in the match before the trouble. They also started playing to their strengths more with the subs.
