I can't find anything. He's not mentioned as injured on their 'team news' analysis, but isn't playing for their youth sides. No idea what's going on.

All a bit strange, 6 weeks now and not a minute, I hope this changes soon as I was hoping that from this loan he could push on and stake a place for at least a squad position next season.

Martinez has got it, I think he's genuinely got it to make it to the top within the next few seasons I.e. Prem level. Hopefully fulfilling it in a West Ham shirt banging them in regularly.

The way he goes about his finishing, his touch, physique and the intelligent runs he makes really impress me at whatever level he's asked to play in, be it with the Kids, the Stiffs or out on loan. He only seems to be getting better.

How comes Martinez is only getting the odd few minutes at the end of the game? Thought he was doing the business for them

Past two games he's been on the bench. Was starting every game before hand. I'm sure he'll get a chance again, all their strikers are in good form though and I'm sure Oxford would rather nurture the young striker they own.

Yeah, he had a bad game a couple of weeks ago and had been dropped to the bench. He responded by scoring his first league goal as a sub last week and I guess is just being made to earn that spot back. A good lesson for him, IMO.

Glad Oxford got on, surely his time is coming now, every time I see Blackett play he looks like an accident waiting to happen, and McShane is bang average at that level at best.

Quite a few of our boys aren't getting off the bench or even making the squad, not good, Marcus Browne should have been sent to a club that were desperate for a player in that position, not a struggling second tier club that don't even need him on the bench.

Agree on Browne. McShane is captain at Reading so Blackett getting dropped is Oxfords route in. A 3-0 away drubbing with poor performances all round also helps Reece with his chances of getting more game time.

A year ago our young Norwegian was scoring stunning solo goals and producing flashes of magic for Posh, a year on and he can't get off the bench for them away at Chesterfield. I'm gutted because I had real high hopes for him but, a month off his 20th birthday, he can't command a regular place in the third tier of English football :(

Reading FC boss Jaap Stam says intense training is the way forward - despite lengthy injury list

"Another player to have born the brunt of Stam's intensive training schedule is Reece Oxford. The 18-year-old centre-back joined Royals on loan from West Ham United on January transfer deadline day. Oxford found game time hard to come-by in his first few weeks and he then picked up a minor hamstring injury in training.

The highly-rated defender made his long-awaited debut during the 3-0 defeat at Preston North End last weekend, coming on in place of McShane for the final 20 minutes. Stam said the teenager could feature in the final nine games of the Championship season. "He's in the squad so if we feel he needs to play then it's possible," said the manager. "When he came in everybody saw him as a talented player, which he is. But when he came over here, and he said it himself, it's totally different to what he was used to at West Ham in the intensity and in how we work. That's why he got a small injury as well in his hamstring but now he's back and we can use him."

West Ham boss Bilic hits back after Stam says Reading FC training surprised Reece Oxford

Stam said Hammers loanee Reece Oxford had been surprised at the intensity of training at Reading

Reading FC manager Jaap Stam 's claims about West Ham's lack of intensity in training have been rejected by manager Slaven Bilic. Stam said at a press conference that Hammers loanee Reece Oxford , on loan until the end of the season, had been surprised at the intensity of training at the Championship side , compared to West Ham. But, Bilic has responded to the claims, suggesting the 18-year-old defender may have found training tough because he was not fit enough following an injury.

"I have not heard about it," Bilic told getreading's sister site Football.London . "We are training very intensely. Maybe with Reece and his change of club they train differently but the only thing I think is that Reece wasn't fit enough. He signed for Reading after a long injury to his ankle so maybe in the beginning he wasn't in the best shape. That was ages ago though, he will have had enough time to get ready."

Stam had said: "Reece Oxford has been surprised at the level of intensity in training at Reading, compared to at West Ham. "Young players need to improve. You need to be on top of them and give them good advice, so that’s why training is intense."

Having just watched goals Sunday, thought Enner took his goal well and a nice ball for Lukaku for an assist too.

Has he got a future with us?
