wouldn't mind it myself. at least we'd be honest with ourselves that we were a club without a home. might foster a bit of a blitz mentality instead of the "alright mate, that's enough for me" energy that the bowl currently radiates around the 70th minute.Hammer1972 wrote:And how long do you realistically think it would take for a new stadium to be sorted out?
Look, I'd be happy to build a new stadium, and then move out of the OS. But being homeless for 5-10 years doesn't really appeal.

And with 10 years of away games in a row, we can soon all enjoy the benefits of Non-League ticket pricing!!

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Inside of OS needs re-configuring to a football stadium, tight, steep stands close to pitch, roof and concourses are fine, we get wet up to 22 rows back now anyway, then build the community track as a 25k stadium for athletics next door.............
Can any photoshop experts mock something up?

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I bet the OS would generate a lot of interest were it to become available, I suspect AEG would still love to get their hands on it. Given that AEG wanted to run it in partnership with Tottenham you have to think they would do the same with West Ham.
Could even give Sullivan and Gold a way out if AEG want a club to buy, they supposedly looked at Spurs in 2012.

If they couldn't find a reason to invest in Spurs, I'm not sure what they will see in West Ham London. Especially for £650 millionModern wrote:Could even give Sullivan and Gold a way out if AEG want a club to buy, they supposedly looked at Spurs in 2012.

Just watched 30 mins of that meeting.you have to say the tone of the questions came across very much like we are well and truly pissed off.The guy answering came across as not exactly awe inspiring. If the current structuring makes it past 5 years I’ll be amazed. All I can see going forward is an almighty mess and years of legal wrangling.

What does the rent reduce if we are relegated? Is it half £1.25 . How could they possibly justify £8m a year costs on that rent.Thats without lost revenue on concessions.Relegation would be a disaster for stadium operators.

To me this is just a step towards us either owning the stadium outright or having full control of it. How long that will take I don’t know, but I’d still be shocked if that doesn’t happen - and if that isn’t GSB’s grand plan all along.

the only benefit of owning that white elephant would be that we could claim on the insurance when some loyal iron drops his fag in the wrong place and burns it to cinders.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
There is an absolute chasm between us owning the stadium and us turning it into a far better venue to watch football in. So many people seem to speak as though they are more or less the same thing.
