On a different note: My mate pointed out to me at the last game that people sit behind the screens. I've heard of hiding behind the sofa when watching horror but seems a bit extreme. What can they see? Are they free tickets?

Having to drive down to the Bowl on Saturday. Tips on where - or where not - to park would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I've always parked in Westfield. Providing you arrive 12ish and then go to the pub you'll not have any issues parking at a low level which means a quicker getaway.Limehouse wrote:Having to drive down to the Bowl on Saturday. Tips on where - or where not - to park would be appreciated. Thanks.

I drove for Newcastle and parked in the the Stratford International car park rather than the Westfield car park. 10 times easier to get out of and far less busy - and that was on the 23rd December!Limehouse wrote:Having to drive down to the Bowl on Saturday. A good idea, goa. Bear in mind though that much of Newham (Barking & Dagenham as well?) is resident permit parking on Saturdays, as well as Mon-Fri.goa127 wrote:depends where you're coming from. Best idea is park a couple of train stops away in the direction you come from, won't get snarled up leaving then
Alright if you know someone who can give/flog you a visitor's day permit!

The event is not at the stadium so can't affect us playing there.
Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
you can check online where parking is residents only on a Saturday, for instance near West Ham station is but further down towards canning town is only mon-fri. Further out Hainault is very easy, big car park and on-street free a few hundred yards away.

A widespread and shady practice.
When plans have to be put in place for events the authorities have a right to know the real numbers rather than the reported attendances

Around Victoria park is a good shout. Residents restrictions do not apply on Saturdays.Limehouse wrote:Having to drive down to the Bowl on Saturday. Tips on where - or where not - to park would be appreciated. Thanks.
Event parking scheme starting in August though, so make the most of it . . . . .
