Nah I meant worried about filling 57k .Which we rarely did in our honeymoon season .Expanding to 60k will just leave more empty seats .

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
brady said in last weeks sun column that they'd be applying for the extra 3,000
They've said ST prices are frozen for renewals so I presume that means an increase for newbies and then in turn matchday prices, where CAT A game no longer have any concession prices
Could mean that ticket trader doesn't open for some games too,

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I know they need to convert the stadium into concert/athletics mode and I understand the need to remove any conflicting sponsors (if there were any) but the removal of actual West Ham logos and branding seems an awful waste of time and money.
Who pays for this, us or them?

Hard signage like that is a permanent fixture, it won't be removed, most likely just won't be illuminated

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
the high costs to be funded by the govt wil see some deal done eventually with us.
cant wait for the bowl to be our own and no more legacy athletics s***
we could hold pre season friendlies that will attract more than the athletics.
couple of pop concecerts also no problem. but football comes first.
I believe that brady will screw the tax payer so much that they will ask us to buy in a year or so.
a little pain now for gain later I guess.

Stadiums wasted no time, there's only 1 elevation of lower seating left in there. - plenty of plant moving large sections without breaking it down to be stored at pudding mill lane.
Was quite nice walking round there today, all the pubs from Hackney wick were busteling with people, the recreational grounds around the stadium were busy as it's half term. - spotted a fair few kids in full hammers kits too.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Went past the ground at the weekend and saw some new security points going up. Wonder if these would work to ease the congestion on matchdays?

Good spot Wembley. - the stadium operators are really pleased with the condition the tracks been left in as well, think they were expecting it to be backed up.

I wonder how long it will take the Mayors review to work out that the answer to the stadium funding problem is to leave it in athletics mode...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I'd take Upton Park circa 1992 over this mess. In a heartbeat. What we'd lose in tickets we'd make up for in beer, burger and pie money, plus I could go to Ken's Cafe before the game.
For f**k sake.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I've often wondered this. Opening the extra 3,000 seats at the top and lose some at the bottom to even it up. Smells fishy or is my hatred and miss trust of the dildos just getting the better of me?1mcavennie wrote:I wonder how long it will take the Mayors review to work out that the answer to the stadium funding problem is to leave it in athletics mode...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
At least we didn't have to borrow money to move. Spurs are getting a bit short of cash - seems as though they've put their IP (trade marks, logos, etc), the NFL agreement as well as revenues from any partner agreement worth more than £5m a year (e.g. Nike) up as security in a loan from HSBC!

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Let's not pretend the stadium is something it isn't and make the best of what it is.
I think we should leave the stadium in athletics mode and every adult ticket should be £289 (or cheaper).
Then reach a deal with Westfield, and every other **** who doesn't want our fans there, to allow the fans to walk, run, drink, eat, shop, ****, park anywhere that someone not going to the football is able to do.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Imagine if they kept it in athletics mode then just allowed people to sit on track would be so cool haha have a cracking atmosphere like those old school clips you see
Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Doesn't it say in the concession agreement it has to be in football mode (no athletics track) for all of our games). I'm fairly sure it does but can't be arsed to check.

10.1 The Grantor must:
(a) provide the Stadium in Football Mode for the Events taking place at the Stadium during the Football Season (other than for Events taking place during (i) the Athletics Window. subject to Clause 6.3, and (ii) the Championship Window);
