When plans have to be put in place for events the authorities have a right to know the real numbers rather than the reported attendances
Indeed Ron, cynically, it creates a false culture of demand
Is that true though? If it is sold, is it a false culture of demand? I can understand if it was 'unsold' and they said it was sold but that isnt the case. Also if you only know after the event how many attended, how would that help planning before the event? Im not defending anyone, just checking the logic.

Fair points, Diogenes.
I would prefer it if after the game, instead of attendance, it said tickets sold & then underneath, actual attendance.
Not that I'm that bothered since I found out that everyone does it. We're all just sick of 'spin'.

I'd swear there were actually people sitting squarely behind them, can't imagine why
If you sit where I sit (Upper East) it is an optical illusion. It really does look like people are sitting directly beind the big sceen to my right. However, of course, they are not
Once I worked out how the screen was positioned, (and it ook me q couple of games) you realise the people who you thought were behind are to the side and above it
That stadium was damp and cold today, mood not helped by walk from the station exposed to the elements and having to go the long way round to avoid the security pile up on the bridge. Couldn't wait to get out, to be honest.

Today emphatically proved to me that it's a summer stadium. It was absolutely Baltic in there today ! Half time pint was not an enjoyable experience - standing in the east concourse with the wind cutting us in half.
Surely surely our esteemed owners can realise that if we are to stay here that works are required. Constant drip from the roof, standing in freezing cold queues to get a token pat down by a load of stewards who look as if they're barely in attendance and not doing what it's assumed they're there to do. The place is a joke.
I must say I was in favour of the move. Well how they sold it to me anyway - next level, excellent facilities, word class transport links etc
The reality is that we have tried to make a summer athletics stadium in to a football stadium on a tiny budget. Everything about my trip today was a disappointment from the Westfield issues, the freezing cold, the pissing rain, the lack of atmosphere and being herded like sheep after.
I have made the decision, after over 20 years of going West Ham, that I will not renew my season ticket next year.
Was told at the game today that all the old West Ham stewards were at their last game today and that starting from the Palace game, all security for the stadium will be run by G4S...the very same company that screwed up the security for the Olympics is being allowed back on site.
