It's only what they agreed too this season playing first 4 away games. What's another 4? The manager and players will just have to cope, it's not like they won't play the home game st a later date...
Logic of idiots.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I thought the atmosphere was about to take off last night. Can’t be sure but I think it was a decent Arnautovic tackle that kicked it off. That spell of Come on You Irons was something else. I’ve never heard it sung like that before - a bit like the way Marseille do a call and response from one end to the other - massive.
Just goes to show how chaotic, sluggish and disorganised the sound in there normally is - mirror image of our team. Last night there was one voice and you could see it on the pitch. It didn’t last long, probably broken up by a mixture of stoppages in the game and the crowd falling back in to bad habits, but the signs were there of a stadium and crowd that might start to get along a bit better. Still not a football stadium granted but that sound was awesome. I hope someone remembers how to do it!

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
That spell in the 2nd half showed the atmosphere is what we make of it. The football wasn’t amazing but we all got up and behind our team (I’d have liked the odd anti board chant to have taken off in between the backing too...).
It’s not The Boleyn and it never will be, but we can make it intimidating (see the Leicester post match interviews last night to show that). Hopefully the football and results pick up and it might make the atmosphere much better every game.
Also most people stayed until the end last night, yet despite this I was still back to St Pancras by half 10.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Can't for the life of me work out why we haven't got many ball boys around the pitch with match balls ready to throw in to replace those that have gone out of play.
So much playing time and momentum is lost when the ball goes out of play.
It isn't rocket science, it's just plain common sense.
Also, those blue and white London Stadium signs in the corners. These are what get seen on tv etc. Compare with Wembley where all you can see is THFC stuff.
Ours make it very clear, this is London Stadium. First and foremost. The major tenant is a distant second.

There was a massive ' stand up if you love West Ham' last night. I sit on an isle, so I stood, flung my arms out and smashed a steward who was walking down the stairs behind me full in the face. Obviously I was mortified, he's a decent young lad. Raced down the stairs, made sure he was ok, shook hands etc etc. Poor bloke was as good as gold, probably got a shiner this morning.

Thanks JP. I wan't aware of that. Can anyone check it out?James P wrote:I think multiball is not allowed under Premier League rules
Even if it isn't, increasing the number of ball boys and having them standing a suitable distance from the touchline would definitely help. Other clubs have this.
It's chaos and amateur.

The only thing Martin Tyler said which I agreed with is that it is not a football stadium.
That was good to hear.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I assume the ball boys are selected and trained by the stadium owners and not the club, they look like they have just been woken up in the middle of the night and surprised to be there. In the old days at the Boleyn they were given strict instructions, such as throw the ball back quickly if we are losing, take your time if we are winning. The Old Mile End wrote:

Ours seem to be quite shocked that they are actually alive.

That 15-20 minute spell in the second half was the most I’ve enjoyed myself in a long time at West Ham. Long may it continue.

Why should people 'get over' the fact it ain't a football stadium?
Why shouldn't fans want, for example, a reconfigured stadium or one where the Club had an invested stake to enforce change?
So many people left their gonads in E6.
