Pre and post match at the new stadium is better than anywhere else in the country in my opinion, especially when the weather is half decent
As I've said all along its a summer stadium

The sun makes most places better. The problem is were only likely to see around 5 home games a season in lovely weather.

Best seats I've had this season in terms of view yesterday towards the front of block 216. Atmosphere was lacking which was a surprise because of the number of people standing up there in blocks 216/217 (I guess the game didn't help that). I think these 2 blocks could be a good place for vocal supporters to congregate going forward. It's over the corner flag, banter with both upper and lower tier away fans, band 4/5 ticket prices and I suspect you could get a good few thousand up there. Shame that the last 10 minutes was marred by some woman recording the block from behind the away fans in the lower tier in front of us.

So we got a bit carried away yesterday on the pre match pub crawl and arrived late to find we couldn't get in at our usual turnstiles. Must have been at least 15 stewards but not one could let us in as the gates are "locked" and we had to go to the "late gate" 4 turnstiles down. The late gate! I've well and truly heard it all now. What a joke.

Yes, the woman on the left. I believe they were recording 113/114 in the first half and then came upstairs in the second. There was no aggro at all yesterday, I don't get what the clubs agenda is by recording every week.

Ye...sod the most important 90 mins of the day when the view is the worst in the country, the atmosphere is awful due to plastics who haven't got a clue how to support the team and away teams have no intimidation at all due to the dreadful distance to the touchline and bucket loads of empty seats.

But if you can pop into the German Deli Gaff...it's all cracking stuff.

Went to the Black Lion for some lovely grub and some good company then cabbed it to the ground. The taxis have a licence to take you right outside to the steps.

I go to the Orbit afterwards - there's better places for sure, but easy to meet. Let the crowds die off before going home. The pie n pint at £8 ain't too bad.

You could draw a circle about a mile from the centre spot and it's probably best to avoid buying everything within it.

Finding different ways there avoiding Westfields and finding the walks along the rivers has been one of the best things about the new place.

Where did I say the actual match experience wasn't important? As you say, it is a bit pony when you are in the stadium.

I was merely pointing out the pre and post match options are decent

The options are good if you want hipster food and drink options.

A huge proportion of our fans don't. Also, most hipster places aren't child friendly.

Some of them aren't football fan-friendly either.

Hipster food and drink options? Number 90 is just a restaurant/bar serving burgers. Plenty of kids in West ham shirts in there on Saturday lunchtime. Loads of west ham fans of of all ages drinking lager. Same as the Truman Brewery and other places on the canal.

Loads of old school pubs in stratford within walking distance anyway

Don't get me wrong i like all of those places over that side of the stadium. I prefer them to the stadium in fact.

A lot of our fans that i know would be out of place, and would feel that way, in the majority of them though.

They are mooch central from the main station as well

I think the views are very good in many parts of the ground. I suspect low down at the front near the halfway line is not so good as that is the further from the pitch than at the corners ... but around the ground there are tens of thousands of good seats at reasonable prices.

Everyone around me in block 229, which is upper section, it's behind the goalline looking out over the corner flag thinks the view is very good for the money. We're not paying Band 1 prices to be fair .....

Went to the Westfield complex on Saturday evening on the way back from a wedding in Ponders End, first time in about 18 months.
Got dropped from there to Stratford on the international station side and had to walk through/around to get to the normal train station.
Walked past a casino, past some eastern restaurant, past 'The Cow' then round to the main entrance. Absolutely everything about the place is disgusting.

A bearded young chap working at the Howling Hops told me that he hoped we would win the other week. Ok it's on quite "KAA-MON U IIIIIROOOONNNZZ" But it's a step in the right direction. :D
