Rars has nailed it.

It's pie in the sky wishful, deluded, "thinking".

We won't hardly ever pay a transfer fee if we can avoid it .There's no chance of a major rebuild of the stadium.

Best we can hope for, is a giant sinkhole opening up and swallowing the lot.

Preferably during a board meeting.

Worrying times if there is any truth at all in this;

https://foreverwestham.com/2018/05/blog ... onsortium/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Could we be left homeless, or have to negotiate a completely new deal on significantly less favourable terms with a new commercial owner of the stadium?

we have a lease in place

if you rent an office and the freeholder sells the block - you still have a right to occupy the space you have a lease on

Be very interested to see who's involved in the consortium. Whoever it is and whatever their agenda, i cant imagine they'd want to keep things as they are

If that is the case then no idea why any commercial enterprise would want to buy the place, as if all current agreements remain in place and cannot be renegotiated then the stadium will continue to make big losses.

Not that any of this will unfold, but would it really be a bad thing if they were to kick us out..

I wouldn't have a problem with it personally, though no idea where we would play instead. The old place has been sold off unfortunately, as part of the "deal of the century"

The current stadium management is unable to operate the place at a profit. There is an opportunity for someone else to do so. Current agreements (of which West Ham is for less than a month in each year) can be renegotiated. Again there is an opportunity for someone to make money while keeping West Ham's owners satisfied. They would just have to be more capable than anyone who has so far been involved in the negotiating process (imagine that)!

I'm just curious to see what ideas can be put out there to try and reclaim the stadium as our own in the spirit of lets try and move forward with some hope.
I think this has legs but you'll be hard pushed to get a lot of the older West Ham fans behind. I've always found it very strange really that our supporters are not at least a little bit interested in this especially with the tenuous link between our fans and the fans of Lazio.

I see EXWHU has questioned with the club whether an official signing section could be setup, maybe the 2 could go hand in hand? One of the upper tier corners would make sense to me as there is a lot of space up there.

Whilst laudable, I don't see how the deaf (often mute) will help the atmosphere?

Sadiq has said he will not sell the stadium to us or anyone else.

If someone buys it and installs proper retractable seating* to enable football mode (in a day for example) then as said above they have 95% of the year to rent it out for whatever they want and we still get our 20 or so home games.

*retractable seating will bring fans no closer to the pitch

Humble apologies squire. I've never mastered that quoting malarkey. :thup:
Sadiq did, however, say what I attributed to him. That I have got right!

Maybe the stadium is not commercially viable with us as tenants.
They make us a massive offer to move away and buy the stadium dirt cheap and pick up the pieces from there.
Our lot cannot resist a pound note and would jump at the chance.

The article is right that a sale of the stadium would (a) need to be cleared by us and (b) simply can not happen in a way that affects our Agreement in any way (except if we agree to it obviously).

However, the "only sell to a government department" quote from their "insider" is yet another example of the diabolical wording of the agreement making it very ambiguous. In terms of being "watertight", it is anything but on that issue.
