Manchester United 4-1 West Ham

With some neat footwork, Pedro Obiang works the ball well to Dimitri Payet on the left, who cuts in and strikes a low shot straight at the Spanish goalkeeper. David de Gea saves, but not too well on this occasion, parrying it back into the danger area, where Ashley Fletcher is on hand to pop home from close range.

Liverpool 2-2 West Ham

Pedro Obiang is fouled 25 yards from goal by Lallana. It’s in Dimitri Payet Territory™. Payet equalises with the free-kick, though many eyes will again be on the goalkeeper Karius. It was a good free-kick, over the wall and dipping sharply towards the bottom-left corner. It wasn’t right in the corner though, and although Karius got his right hand to the ball, it went through him and into the net.

Michail Antonio has given West Ham the lead! Harvard Nortdveit’s angled driven pass from the right looped up off the head of Henderson, wrongfooting the last man Matic in the process. That allowed Antonio to run through on goal, and he ****ed the ball gently past the static Karius. Matip was strangely slow to react to the change of trajectory.

That's because Tore's crosses occasionally lands in the general vicinity of a West Ham player. Still can't believe that attempt of a cross by Antonio in the second half.

We finally have a little possession after being under pressure from Liverpool, and we flow through Payet, Payet then lays it out wide to Antonio - and despite having an ETERNITY to cross to Carroll at the far post, Antonio only manages to float it to their keeper. It wasn't even in the same area code to where Carroll was position.

West Ham 1-0 Burnley

It looked like the Hammers would go into the break without anything to show for their dominance, but in stoppage time they won a spot-kick when Ben Mee brought down Winston Reid.
Up stepped Noble. His initial kick was saved low by Tom Heaton but he kept his composure to tuck in the rebound.

Swansea 1-4 West Ham

West Ham’s breakthrough in the first half had owed much to Andy Carroll, who towered above Angel Rangel to head Mark Noble’s diagonal pass back across goal. Cheikhou Kouyate touched it goalwards and Lukas Fabianski carelessly pushed the ball into the path of Andre Ayew, who slotted home from inside the six-yard box.

West Ham brutally exposed Swansea’s defensive frailties and never looked back from the moment Winston Reid headed in Dimitri Payet’s corner five minutes into the second half.

it was no surprise when Michail Antonio stabbed home a third, turning in Havard Nordtveit’s wayward shot after great work down the left from Edmilson Fernandes and Dimitri Payet.

Andy Carroll put a smile back on Slaven Bilic’s face with West Ham’s fourth goal, volleying in Sofiane Feghouli's cross at the far post.

Key contributions: Noble, Carroll (1st goal), Fernandes, Payet (third goal), Fernandes (fourth goal)

Considering he's supposed to be our central attacking midfielder, that's a bit of a disappointing stat for Lanzini.

Agreed, though he hasn't really played much so far this season and when he has played the whole team has been atrocious. His stats from last season (6 Manuel Lanzini (18 points)) give me confidence that he'll contribute.

West Ham 3-0 Crystal Palace

A sublime through-ball from Mark Noble set off Michail Antonio into the box, who nicked the ball around an oncoming Wayne Hennessey who was far off his line, and squaring to the Algeria international to slot home into an open net..

Eleven minutes later, Andy Carroll produced an absolute stunning effort to double the Hammers’ lead and end his frustration in front of goal. Manuel Lanzini played the ball to Michail Antonio on the right of the box, who put in a fantastic cross to the striker on the right of the box. Carroll steadied himself before hitting the ball with the sweetest of overhead kicks to send the effort smashing into the back of the net for one of the goals of the season as the London Stadium went wild.

Manuel Lanzini rounded off the scoring in the 86th minute, and it was the third assist of the afternoon for Michail Antonio. After Winston Reid clearance at the other end sent Antonio off on a break, bursting down the field before beautifully laying the ball off for Lanzini who continued the run.

Middlesbrough 1-3 West Ham

West Ham have started really well here and open the scoring as Andy Carroll climbs above Bernardo to powerfully head home Manuel Lanzini’s corner from just six yards out.

Michail Antonio receives the ball from Aaron Cresswell 30 yards out from goal and fires a fierce low shot towards the bottom corner. Valdes does well to get down to his right and keep the ball out but he can only palm the ball straight into the path of Andy Carroll, who taps the ball underneath the keeper for his second of the afternoon.

West Ham seal all three points as Jonathan Calleri’s effort deflects off Adam Clayton and into the corner! The opportunity appeared to have gone for West Ham as Edimilson Fernandes chose not to shoot but instead square the ball across goal towards Manuel Lanzini, but the winger kept the ball in play before laying it off to Calleri who slotted home off Clayton from 15 yards out.

Key contributions: Cresswell (second goal), Antonio, Fernandes (third goal)

Interesting (and relieving) to see Antonio and Lanzini's points pile up without Payet in the team.

Southampton 1-3 West Ham

West Ham built-up down the right with Feghouli and Kouyate combining before Pedro Obiang slid the ball through for Andy Carroll. Carroll took a touch and the quickest of glances before lashing past Fraser Forster.

West Ham snatched the lead a minute before the break. Robert Snodgrass sent over a corner, Gabbiadini cleared with a solid header, but from there home efforts were questionable. Pedro Obiang was given time to take aim and shoot from 25 yards and on bobbled the ball, bouncing and deflecting through a crowd before beating Forster. Not especially pretty but effective. unassisted

Oriol Romeu brought down Robert Snodgrass just outside the penalty area. Mark Noble whipped a nasty free-kick towards the near post, where Steven Davis attempted to intercept, only to deflect the ball beyond Forster and inside the far stick.
