Some guy on reddit has produced a league table replacing all fixtures thus far this season with corresponding results from last season.

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/5o5qrb/oc_if_this_season_had_the_same_results_as_last/

Never seen the like! I'm all up for manipulating the table to make us look good...

Leicester improved one result, they beat us 1-0 at home, last season it was 2-2

Statto time -
7 out of 10 results the same as last season in week 24. Of the 240 games played so far, 95 (40%) have produced the same result. Tottenham have had 16 out of 24 the same, Burnley have had 15. Leicester and Man United have had 5.

Great thread this, thank you to the posters who update the data .

I can't be the only one who feels it's strange to be within striking distance of last season providing we win a few "possibles" , the likes of WBA, Watford, Leicester .The trick of course is not to get humped by Chelsea .

It must be murder being a PL Manager .

At week 24 last season (so different opponents)

Leicester 50
Man C 47
Spurs 45
Arsenal 45
Man U 40
WHU 39
Southampton 34
Liverpool 34

(everton 32, Chelsea 29)

We seem to drifting towards the reasonably expected outcomes of Chelsea replace leicester, and koeman takes Everton into the Koeman-less Southampton's spot.

It just takes us to go past West Brom then to take up residence in the top 8 - a place we have usually been on form bar a couple of blips (fag end of Allardyce last year, first 6 games this year) for nearly three seasons.

Of the remaining 14 games, we got 19 points last season, victories against Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool at home and Bournemouth and Arsenal away and defeats to Leicester and Swansea at home and Watford, Stoke and Burnley (Newcastle) away. The 4 draws were against West Brom and Everton at home and Hull and Sunderland away. The way we are playing away at present suggests we can improve on last seasons tally of 8 points. If we match the 11 points from the home fixtures, we won't be too far off last seasons total.

So par from here is probably 50 points based on the opposition.

Based on form since Obiang came into the team on Oct 1st, we should hit 52-53 (just over 1.5 per game from here on in).

I think having Spurs and Liverpool as our last two home games will ensure that feet don't leave the pedal.

Only 7 points out of those games last season, and even that was thanks to a great win over Chelsea!
I think we can certainly improve on that and aim for around 13 points from that little lot closing the gap between this season and last.

Great thread. I remember that I was originally confused by it because the very first result is wrong. It says we beat Chelsea after drawing last season yet we were on -1 points. Took me a while to remember that we lost that game. Should have mentioned this months ago. Sorry.
