We won't have wanted to sell him though.

He'll have gone on strike, or demanded a transfer, or other story the Dave's provide.

After last year and even the year before, I really thought these sort of years were behind us, that we would try to push on. Although after the horlicks that was last summer's window, I still didn't expect this. If we go, as looks highly possible, G&S have such a lot to answer for and overseeing two relegations in 7 years will definitely see the end of them. Still at least they will pay a reduced rent on that stadium in the event of relegation. That must have been a huge attraction to them, one they just could not resist

win tomorrow and we will survive, lose and slav will be gone and we will be in serious trouble.

swansea win
sunderland draw
everton lose
stoke draw
spurs draw
liverpool lose
burnley draw

should have enough left to scramble over the safety line. All starts tomorrow.

I think that's us safe, even if we don't pick up any more points.

To overtake us, Swansea need 9 points from 6 games: Watford (A), Stoke (H), Man U (A), Everton (H), Sunderland (A), West Brom (H). They've got 10 points from their last 10 games, 1 from their last 6. Can't see them putting on a massive spurt now.

Boro need 13 points from 7 games: Arsenal (H), Bournemouth (A), Sunderland (H), ManCity (H), Chelsea (A), Southampton (H), Liverpool (A). They've got 4 points from their last 10 games, 2 from their last 6. They're dead and buried.

Sunderland need a mere 17 points from 8 games: Man U (H), us (H), Arsenal (A), Boro (A), Bournemouth (H), Hull (A), Swansea (H), Chelsea (A). They've got 5 points from their last 10, 1 point (and no goals) from their last 6. Even more dead than Boro.

37 or 38 pts should be enough for safety this season so we're nearly there, nearly...

We are not safe yet, and no way should anyone at the club take that attitude. Swansea could definitely pick up 3 or 4 wins from their final set of matches.

4 more points and we'd certainly be safe. To be honest if we're getting less than that from our final six matches we deserve to be in the mire.

We are 8 points (most probably 9.in real terms due to goal difference). I think we are safe already albeit not mathematically.

Swansea have won a grand total of 8 games from 32 this season. Yes they could conceivably win 3 or 4 from 6, but it isn't going to happen

I'll be happier once it's mathematically safe, but realistically it would take a monumental turn-around in Swansea's form to catch us.

Looking at our fixtures I think we need 1 point vs Sunderland. That would give us a 9pt gap with a +15 better goal difference. Obviously, SFC game is the best chance to get a few more points on the Board, as I can't see us winning another game for the rest of the season. Stoke City(a) always decent at Home, Everton(h), Sp*rs(h),Liverpool (h) & Burnley (a) Good side at Home, I can't see West Ham getting another point.

Swansea are awful but have fixtures that are winnable vs clubs with nothing to play for. Checking out their fixtures they have Stoke (h), Sunderland (a), West Brom (h) which are games which could give them 9 pts. If we do lose our last 5 games we must not get battered 0-3 & 0-4's cos goal difference could be crucial.

Too close this season for my liking. As I said in my other post, this should not be filed under 'Bad season' we need answers why it's gone so wrong....Stadium move is a factor but blaming it solely on that is stupid. Taking it as 'Just a blip, we'll be better next season'...in other words blank it out. Need serious answers about our training. Why the players look so disjointed, unfit & picking up so many injuries this season? On the injuries front are we under training? Over training? Not doing the right training?

We do not want to become another 'Aston Villa'. Had 2 or 3 seasons where the club was on the slide & eventually went down. We need to rectifying any issues behind the scenes, revamp training if the 'intensity' isn't there & start afresh next season 2017/18 with a squad fit, motivated & team playing as a 'Unit' not a bunch of individuals

Anyway, 3pts vs Sunderland please.

100% agree

Worst thing anyone at the club could do would be to think that it's 'job done' after yesterdays three points.

Clubs that have hardly won all season often go on mad winning runs at the end of the season, we've done it ourselves a couple of times to avoid relegation.

Need three more point imo to be sure.
