As I've said before, Boxing Day no longer ranks in the top 5 shopping days of the year - the busiest shopping day is the Saturday before Christmas - and the next busiest is the day before Christmas Eve - which this year falls on that Saturday before Christmas. If they were worried about too many shoppers mixing with football supporters they would not have scheduled us to be at home to Newcastle at 3:00pm on that day!

Last night WHUISA met with the Met Police and reps from LS185, Spurs Supporters Trust and West Ham United.

The meeting lasted 2 hours and covered all aspects of the match. All points raised by our members were directly asked to those present.

A report is being compiled and will be published very shortly.

WHUISA would like to thank all at MPS for their bravery and dedication in keeping us a safe as possible in light of the current terror threat.

I think that may include grocery shopping which is less frenetic than the sales activity you see on Boxing Day at Westfield.

To whom it may concern,
can you be a member of WHUISA even though you're not a season ticket holder or a member?

I used to fly over for 5+ games a season, but that's a while back.

However, if I would like support what you do, how would I go about??

The Met. Police have just confirmed release of our report document on the meeting WHUISA had on 30/08/2017.

There are number of useful and interesting confirmed details on the Spurs match, Westfield, Terrorism / Security and LS185.

All questions sent to us by our members were put direct to the Met. Police, LS185 and West Ham United.

Any details of what this entails?

"Stewarding has undergone a massive change and this is expected to be seen from the first match."

I fear the worst when I read this part, things seemed to have calmed down by the end of last season, lets hope it's not a return to the issues that went on for the first half of last season.

A full review of stewarding has taken place. A number of complaints made by fans have been looked at closely. This involves entering / exiting the stadium. Ticket checks. Also the new dynamic of the crowd.

6,000 people have changed their positions in the close season. Season ticket holders are now in the lower STB tier with Thomas Cook day trippers going upstairs.

Such areas are full of like minded fans which suggests standing will occur here.

Lessons (hopefully) have been learnt from the first season which did not go well and a number of senior staffing changes have been made within LS185.

WHUISA can only hope things are better for the fans this season.

In the report WHUISA stated that there may be announcements of ingress / security to the stadium.

LS185 were working on the finer details last week and it seems they have now decided to implement the following.

It may take a game or two to sort out but bear with it and see how it goes.

Having been inconvenienced by having my entrance for block 136 changed from G to H LS185 can stick asking me to use bridge 1 up their arse. I come from the Carpenters Estate and will not be either arriving or leaving via Westfield.

Good points but people will still use their bridges of choice rather then the recommended ones.
I dont think people will have to walk around the park perimeters in the dark.

WHUISA is working with the FSF to try and let Sky and the Premier League know that Christmas Eve football isn't really a good idea.

As it stands, there will be two Sky games on Christmas Eve at 1.30 & 4.00

Apart from the whole hassle of trying to get back as transport is closing down (and don't forget we're playing Newcastle) many people will have family committments.

Add to that the number of staff who are on minimum wage being forced to work its not a great deal.

As our former club chaplain, "The Rev" Elwin Cockett put it.

At 4 o'clock on Christmas Eve, I'll be listening to Carols from Kings, perhaps with a Mince Pie and a glass of something, wrapping the last few presents and getting ready to celebrate at a church somewhere at Midnight. I love football, but there's a time and a place, and Christmas Eve - for me, at least - isn't it.

We're running a poll on WHUISA's twitter account, please vote to show the strength of opinion on this

https://twitter.com/WHUISA2017/status/9 ... 2939055105

Sky will announce festive fixtures on October 12th
