Sullivan keeps mum...

Postby 1959 on Fri May 19, 2017 10:34 pm

Fair play to our owner for no longer talking up possible signings. We all got the hump, whether the motivation was ticket sales or just excitement, and it seems he's listened.
Thank you, David. Hopefully, it will lead to better success in the transfer market

I can confirm that the club have a number of bids in for several of Europe's top strikers, including one which would break our transfer record.

Instead we will end up with some ***** hot loan signing, personally scouted by DS, who has gone down a storm in the Guatemalan second division.

You are right there mate.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I yearn for the Cearns era when we didn't have a clue until it happened. Nor did anyone else. It was in hindsight actually very good.
Different world now though. It's all agents and media and 'look at me'.

Sullivan won't make it into June with gobbing off about a potential signing to some media outlet

He can't help himself.

See Mr Twitter himself strikes again this morning, yes Mr Gold back at his best! defending lol how can the club play teenagers and not send them out on loan, in a Team Full of Internationals, when will someone take his smart phone off him, the media will pick it up and give them a laugh again tomorrow, is there any other owners who seem to want to be the Press Office of their club in The Premiership, I doubt it!

The window hasn't even opened yet.

Don't forget, last summer wasn't a one off, he's been running off his mouth about unrealistic signings since his Birmingham days.

Sullivan can gob off as much as he likes as long as he delivers on his word. And therein lies the problem...

Well he is in todays Telegraph speaking about how the club budget to finish in 10th and if we finish lower it impacts what we pay in wages and transfer fees. Quite an interesting piece albeit how on earth he can EXPECT to finish 10th is beyond me.

Slaven will need us to finish nearer to 10th than 16th I think tomorrow based on that.

Well he runs it as a profit making business doesn't he? Which makes all the "I'm a fan" BS even more vile.

I didn't think we could finish 10th

....latest predictions for our finish this season will mean a payment from PL prize money and TV money will be £118 million.... if we stay 12th

Though that could increase to about 122 million down to 110 million depending where we finish tomorrow...

Basically it's

85 million (standard flat fee payment to all PL clubs)
Plus
15 million (for facility fee for matches shown)

Then depending where we finish add

11th 20 million
12th 18 million

Or less

16th 10 million

Each place is worth 1.9 million

The budget?
