Robert Snodgrass

Rob played as Villa won 2-0 at home to Ipswich, assisting the second goal with a great through ball.

LIVE TEXT:

4' A positive start by Villa as Robert Snodgrass wins a corner on the right. The Scot’s delivery is worked back out to the left before the attack comes to an end. Bruce, as always, prowling the touchline offering his players encouragement.
9' Alan Hutton meets his compatriot Robert Snodgrass’ free-kick from the left and glances a header wide of the post. Villa in the ascendancy early on here...
66' Adomah has done it! The winger races onto Snodgrass' through ball and scores his second of the game and 10th league goal of the season. What a season he is having.
FT: Robert Snodgrass - 6. It wasn’t the Scotland international’s best performance in claret and blue but he racked up another assist with a delightful through ball for Adomah’s second.

Robert Snodgrass

Rob played as Villa drew 1-1 at Leeds. He picked up his fifth booking of the season for a rash challenge in stoppage time.

LIVE TEXT:

15' Villa appear calm on the ball in the opening stages. Leeds are fired up for this, they’ve seen more of the ball early on, but the likes of Snodgrass, Hourihane and Whelan have brought a calming influence to the Villa side.
35' Davis was fed by Snodgrass on the right and the youngster raced to the by-line. A bit of trickery allowed him to pull the ball back to the edge of the area where Glenn Whelan was waiting, but the midfielder aimed another tame shot that Wiedwald gobbled up. Snodgrass appeared rather disappointed that Davis had not reversed a pass to him.
90+1' The free kick smashes into the side of the head of Robert Snodgrass, much to the delight of the home fans. The Scot then gets carded for a rash challenge after Villa clear the corner.

Burke (and Cullen) are only at Bolton till the start of Jan, so he'll get a chance soon. Would be surprised if Cullen stays there - Burke is, at least, getting some playing time.

Personally, I'd bring both back and try to find a club where they'll start.

I reckon Burke would be good cover in our defence.

I can see some sense in Cullen finishing this season out on loan, but, with injury problems never far away for at least one if not more of our old-timers, I think Burke deserves some time around the first team squad. He didn't do badly all those years ago, emerging at the end of Sam's reign.

Robert Snodgrass

Rob played 59 minutes as Villa drew 0-0 with Millwall.

LIVE TEXT:

9' Snodgrass getting some stick. A neat passage of play from Villa between Snodgrass, Davis and Hutton results in the latter winning a corner. Snodgrass goes over to take it in front of the Millwall supporters and appeared to pick something up which had been thrown onto the pitch.
28' Davis looked to be in for Villa following a lovely pass from Snodgrass but the rookie was tackled by Cooper just as he pulled the trigger.
33' A bad mistake from Snodgrass and Millwall are away again.
59' Jack Grealish comes on for Robert Snodgrass. The Scot can have no complaints about his withdrawal, he’s been well below his best today.

General opinion on Gladbach forum is that Reece put in a reasonable performance in a team playing at nowhere near its best last night. Some posters are critical of his lack of attacking play (from right back) and there seems to be a general consensus that he looked better when they shifted to a back three sometime in the second half.

And he nearly scored an absolute belter. Reece is playing central midfield.

I've missed the first 25 mins but the commentator is raving about him and another 18 year old - a French player.

He’s played very well so far. Very confident on the ball and looks physically stronger. The French lad is a real prospect too.

Helped his side to a 3-1 win. Subbed in 88th minute to good applause and appreciative manager. BM now 4th in the league. Why would he want to come back?

Great news this. That performance against Arsenal a couple of seasons ago proves what he can do at DM over 90 minutes. Just needs to prove he can do it over a season.

Could be sitting in front of back four next season which is hugely exciting.

Robert Snodgrass

Rob played as Villa lost 2-0 at Derby.

MATCH REPORT:
"Villa took too long to respond but did wake up after the break when Robert Snodgrass’ effort was cleared off the line by Richard Keogh."

LIVE TEXT:

45+2' Sublime skill from Snodgrass down the right gets a move going for Villa.
55' Adomah crosses for Onomah who can’t reach it but the ball falls to Snodgrass and it places it towards the bottom corner. Keogh is there on the line to stop it, though, and it cannons off him and into Carson’s arms. Derby are very fortunate on this occasion. It should be 1-1.
