That was an interesting and rather depressing read. Fwiw Burke looked Premier League quality two and a half years ago.

That reads like a particularly bitter fan who just wants someone to blame. How many on here ripped into Moses?
Most Bolton fans think Burke has been one of their best players.

Worth pointing out aswell than nearly every Bolton fan I've ever met has a serious case of the "everyone who is geographically below Bolton is a southern fairy", his whole argument is pretty much built around saying that Burke and Cullen think they are better than Bolton and don't get stuck in.

Reece Oxford

unused sub

Next match: Sat 30th September vs Hannover 96 (h)

Reece Burke

Reece played 62 minutes as Bolton lost 3-0 at home to struggling Brentford. He was cautioned for a foul in first-half stoppage time.

MATCH REPORT:
"Parkinson watched with concern as his midfield was over-run and the oh-too-familiar gaps started to appear behind wing-backs Robinson and Mark Little, pulling Mark Beevers and Reece Burke out of position. From there, it was just a case of when Brentford would strike. "

LIVE TWEETS:

45' Gary Madine flicks on Filipe Morais' free-kick but Daniel Bentley gets there before Reece Burke.
61' Double substitution for Wanderers as Adam Le Fondre and Craig Noone come on for Adam Armstrong and Reece Burke.

He was an unused sub in the midweek loss at Bristol City.

Next match: Sat 30th September vs Aston Villa (a)

Josh Cullen

Josh played as Bolton lost 3-0 at home to struggling Brentford.

MATCH REPORT:
"Yennaris was virtually untouchable in the middle of the park and would later cap a masterful performance with a stunning 25-yard strike. Jem Karacan and Josh Cullen, who had been rested in midweek and were two of the better players at Ipswich, were completely negated. "

LIVE TWEETS:

77' Jem Karacan can't direct his header goalwards as Brentford clear before Josh Cullen's shot is blocked.

He was an unused sub in the midweek loss at Bristol City.

Next match: Sat 30th September vs Aston Villa (a)

Robert Snodgrass

Rob played 88 [largely unimpressive] minutes as Villa beat Nottingham Forest 2-1.

LIVE TWEETS:

88' Fans sing 'The Scottish Cafu' as Alan Hutton replaces Robert Snodgrass for the final moments

He then played the full match, scoring and assisting, in a 4-0 thrashing of Burton Albion. He also had a goal ruled out for offside in the second half.

MATCH REPORT:

Image

"Then Robert Snodgrass split the home defence for Adomah to continue his scoring run via a mishit, already his fifth goal of the season."
"And Snodgrass himself poached his first for the club, popping a hopeful low volley through a crowd of players and past rooted keeper Stephen Bywater."

LIVE TEXT:

16' Villa double their lead through Adomah. Villa oozing with confidence as they open Burton up with that second goal. A well-worked move from the back resulted in Snodgrass playing in Adomah who opened up his body and lifted the ball over Bywater and into the net. A great team goal and another onto the winger’s personal tally.
32' Villa are now three to the good. McFadzean half-clears the ball and it fell to Snodgrass who rattled it in first time. Looked like it took a slight deflection but, still, dreadful defending.
60' Villa have the ball in the back of the net as Snodgrass taps in Davis’ cross at the back post but it’s ruled out for offside. Davis was in front of the defenders when Adomah slipped him in and the linesman quickly raised his flag.

Next match: Sat 30th September vs Bolton (h)

I've got to say, the Bolton and Villa live text twitter feeds are awful. The Villa text above is from the Birmingham Mail, which I shall use in future.

Reece Oxford to return to West Ham from Borussia Monchengladbach

Reece Oxford is to return to West Ham after cutting short his loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, according to Sky sources.

Oxford joined Gladbach on a season-long loan back in June but is yet to make a first-team appearance.

The centre-half, who can also play in midfield, has been an unused substitute in all six of the club's Bundesliga games - the most recent of which ended in a 6-1 defeat at Borussia Dortmund.

Oxford was the Premier League's second-youngest debutant when he started at Arsenal on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 season.

The 18-year-old signed a long-term contract in December but spent the second half of last season on loan at Reading and has not played for West Ham for more than a year.

They were raving about them earlier in the season, some were saying Burke was more promising than Cahill was!

Surprised Burke is not rated...

Cullen on the other hand, I don't know. There's potential in there but I can totally see where they're coming from in that article.

Robert Snodgrass

Rob played 89 minutes and was named man of the match as Villa beat bottom club Bolton 1-0.

MATCH REPORT:
"Villa stood firm in the second half and almost added a second through man-of-the-match Robert Snodgrass. He was brilliantly denied by Howard."

LIVE TWEETS:

This is the first mention of Rob on the AVFC Twitter updates:
75' No let-up from us as we search for a second. @RobSnodgrass7 at the heart of everything

LIVE TEXT:

23' Snodgrass has started this game really well and is playing his team-mates into a number of dangerous positions. He just spotted Kodjia on the overlap as Villa broke down the right but the striker wasted the cross by over-hitting it through the box.
27' Doubling-up. Villa getting plenty of joy down the right as Elmohamdy and Snodgrass link up with each other down the right to double-up on Taylor. It could be a long afternoon for the left-back.
80' Great save. Howard gets down well to superbly deny Snodgrass. He’s been Villa’s best performer today and is really enjoying his football again.
89' Standing ovation. Snodgrass, my man of the match, goes off to be replaced by Samba. Looks like Villa will shut up shop for the final few minutes.

Snodcumber having a few good games against lower league opposition changes nothing for me, Arnie has already done more than him, in a West Ham shirt, and most would agree that Arnie hasn't been all that yet.

Interesting that Bolton fans have turned on Cullen. Just saw this (slightly biased, perhaps) piece that gave him a glowing review for the Ireland U21's. Rice bigged in it too.

Bolton are having an absolutely torrid time, and I'm not sure it's the place for two young lads finding their feet in a new league.

The team was always going to be under the cosh from the first weekend so I'm not sure this one was thought through. If Parkinson wasn't their manager I'm certain Burke and Cullen wouldn't have gone there.

Josh Cullen

Josh played the final 6 minutes as Bolton secured their first win of the season with a 2-1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday. They are now 3 points behind second-bottom Sunderland.

Next match: Sat 21st October vs QPR (h)

Robert Snodgrass

Rob played as Villa lost 2-0 at Wolves. He was cautioned for an early foul.

LIVE TEXT:

12’ Robert Snodgrass goes into the book for a late sliding challenge on Ivan Cavaleiro right on the edge of the Villa area by the byline.
21’ Great ball into the box from the Villa left looking for Robert Snodgrass. It's just over the Scot's head but he goes down under the challenge of Barry Douglas. The left-back made his presence felt there, but the referee says nothing doing - no penalty.
82’ A chance for Villa as Barry Douglas trips Robert Snodgrass on the edge of the area.
83’ Robert Snodgrass decides to take the free-kick himself from about 20 yards out. The Scot brilliantly clips it over the wall, only to see his effort come back off the top of the crossbar.
85’ Wolves have more defending to do as Callum O'Hare and Robert Snodgrass look for a way through the gold shirts in front of them.
90+2‘ Robert Snodgrass swings in another cross, but Wolves keeper John Ruddy gathers it brilliantly under pressure

Next match: Sat 21st October vs Fulham (h)
