Well that’s seemingly all he did when he was running our training.smuts wrote:Slav must be scratching his head.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
He really needed that type of fixture to make him and us fell a part of the Club and Stokes pelters really did spur him on to do well and shove it back down theur throats. He's now looking like the player that used to impress me whilst at Stoke. Keep it up Arnie!

Notwithstanding the fact that I've actually no idea, I've got a theory.Bend it like Repka wrote: There clearly must be the question, what is Moyes doing to him that Slav wasn't?
Slav is obviously a hugely likable bloke but, I suspect that tactically he was trying to implement things that he didn't have the players to execute. I also think that he was long on trying to gee the players up and play their natural games and this only works when you've got a wizard like Payet on your books or teams of the quality of Man City or Barcelona. It's like abstract art: if you can't do it, you make a ****ing mess.
Moyes is better at cutting his clothes according to his cloth. He realizes that most players are pretty thick and they need to be told what to do.

Easy TOMOS - if he keeps this up, Sulli will suddenly remember that it was him who signed him !!The Old Man of Storr wrote:

As shocking as he was at the beginning of the season, I hope he keeps up his current work rate and performance levels. He'd be a shoe in for HOTY and comparable to our better players over the years.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
I just loved watching him yesterday, the first time in ages i have been well and truly entertained by an individual in a West Ham shirt. I love a maverick type, and if he can keep his current level of performance up he could be a Di Canio type hero. He seemed to up his game an extra 10% when the crowd were on him, he thrived in being the centre of the attention and i really enjoyed it. He could have scored about 4 goals yesterday, he was that good.

In the oatcake has already the 4th thread on Arni been created. Their own boring players seem to be complete out of interest.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
As one of his critics at the start of the year, I thought I’d pull this guy up for yesterday. I honestly thought he was outstanding, got back time after time and where I was, constantly headed clear and sprinted up the pitch to join the attack. Antonio could take a leaf out of his book right now, really pleased to see him turn it around

Best striker we have. Couldn't care less what his 'recognised' position is. His off the ball movement is excellent and he always manages to find space in the box.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
The modern game can make it very difficult to pass real judgement. Its too complicated. Too much going on behind the scenes and off the pitch.irving boleyn wrote:Six weeks ago I thought he wasnt good enough for us ..I'm now thinking he's too good for us.
You have to go with a hunch but some of the things I saw from him as a Stoke player made me take notice.
However, there were elements of Snodgrass that impressed me at Leeds and Norwich.
Either WHU, Bilic or other circumstances made him look inept.
Thats the modern game. In 86 we used 14 players???
These days you have to hit the ground running. Back then you could continually play yourself in, out and back in to form based purely on ability. Attitude was never in question.

I don't know what Moyes is saying to him but his attitude and work rate are fantastic.
