Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
Got a really good feeling about this signing for no real reason at all. If the plan is him and Antonio on each wing then there aren't going to be many full-backs looking forward to playing us this season. Get Carroll on the pitch at the same time and we're going to absolutely batter some defences.
Hopefully we'll get the balance right between physicality, flair and technique and Lanzini and Hernandez can revel in some of the spaces created as a result.

Got a great feeling about this bloke. Bit of a nutter, loves a tantrum every now and then, incredible ability on his day.
Welcome to West Ham Arnie.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
What I always liked about Marko, seeing him playing for Stoke, is that he always looks angry...like the other team's players kicked his dog or punched his mother. And I think this team needs some of that...some moxie. Not to the point where heads get lost...but a little bit of 'tude instead of always hugs and smiles.
I want to see players get mad when they go 1 down...not just drop heads, sulk, and look helpless which is what I saw last season.
Maybe just me.

Indeed..Coops wrote:I just had a nose on Oatcake forum. They have a 115 page thread on him leaving and coming to us. They are really pissed off about it.
I ask myself if he was that **** why would he create such vitriol from our six fingered friends from Stoke?
They know he's moved to a much bigger club.
Suck it up, your brother is your cousin and your mother is your sister sky sports news transfer day watching rejects.

The answer is they are gutted to see him leave, You don't have a 115 page of abuse when a **** player leaves. Their anger makes me happy.Pob! wrote: Indeed..

Not everyone can do it in a November night in Stoke.Westaam wrote:The view from Stoke:

"It's sad because, despite legitimate arguments regarding inconsistency, he is one of those rare players who always has a moment of magic in him."
Should have no problem in the summer-like OS...
Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
11 PL goals and 6 assists in 2015/16 and finished the season Stoke's top scorer.
6 goals and 5 assists last season is still respectable for a forward / winger.
He'll be a contributor and we've got good strength and depth down the channels with Lanzini, Antonio, Ayew and Feghouli.
We're stronger than last season.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
To be fair they're entitled to be titsed off, not only have they lost their best player but most of the poor bastads live in Stoke.
Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
We have too many wingers now!
I would rather have seen Antonio on the left, Feghouli on the right, and that 25m plus those huge wages spent on a second out-and-out striker.
Think it's Bilic's latest misjudgment, personally, but I hope MA disproves it.

Re: Marko Arnautovic Signs
I find it bizarre/ironic that we (reportedly) tried to sign Arnautovic and Ayew when they first moved to England, both turned us down for another club - and then we end up signing both later on for club-record fees.

The club has only spent £6m (net) and that's with at least three more players rumoured to go.
This bloke has 36 assists for Stoke (all comps) in 4 years. He doesn't take the free kicks or corners, so he must be creating in open play.
