There was a moment in the 2nd half where he was clearly giving it back to the Stoke fans and they got really riled up against him. He then went from having a good game to an incredible game.

This guy is going to be a cult hero at this rate.

Thought he was utter **** in the first few games he played for us this season all the way until the Everton game.

Oh how he has proved me wrong since then. Keep it up Marko, because you play exactly the kind of football us West Ham fans want to watch. Absolutely superb recently.

Gave it the old "thump the badge" routine

Went down like a lead zeppelin with the Stoke fans

Could've had a hat trick on another day

He got proper dogs abuse from them from the start. They deserved everything he did

Well done to the lad. From looking lazy and uninteresting early in the season, and taking some stick from our fans, he has steadily improved every game. He looks real quality when he's up for it, long may it continue.

I'd really love to know what goes on behind the scenes.

As much as you have to allow for being a new at a club and that players thrive on confidence, I would love to know why he looked so lazy and disinterested at the start of this season.

There clearly must be the question, what is Moyes doing to him that Slav wasn't?

I like many thought he was a disaster at the start of this season. Now looks like the player you'd expect for the money we paid.

It pretty much revolves around "making him train like a Premier league footballer" - we didn't train enough, with high enough intensity and insolence wasn't punished. Moyes has really surprised me.

I really liked Bilic but the training and the backroom was his own undoing. We always had the quality but now we're getting back the fitness and discipline that we lost. In my opinion it carried over from Big Sam and wore off but it's gradually coming back.

Such an amazing turnaround. Genuinely thought he would be shown the door in Jan, but could end up being HOTY if he keeps producing like this. Sir David Moyes deserves a lot of credit for turning his WHU career around.

This is the player we hoped we'd bought

superb today and will become cult hero if he continues.

And good for him for celebrating (his crossed hammers needs some work though)

If there ever was such a clear difference between what a manager can do with a player it's this man, he is adding quality and goals to us, exactly why we paid big bucks, him linking up with Lanzini and maybe Hernadez, could be a joy

Would love to see the full footage of his substitution.

I thought he was going to have a fight with Shawcross, their dugout, Hughes and the main stand. His walk down the touchline towards us, the crossed arms and going down the tunnel were theatrical magic. Sometimes players do it and it seems a bit routine, but when he did it today he was marking his arrival big time.

Yeah Chalks also pointed out that he was getting dog's abuse so that explains his response. I was only able to follow via the match thread (not even radio) so I couldn't pick up on that.

For me it was one of them special games yesterday, the passion and edginess. It felt we all wanted him to score, and when he did there was that little extra emotion. The stokies had been loud and relenting in their abuse, a regular chant being WHAT A LOAD OF MONEY. Oh the irony when he scored then, with all the West Ham chanting the same words back, all passion and pointing fingers, in brilliant defence and celebration of their new Maverick. Arny terrorised them and I loved it, every time he came close you could feel the sharp intake of breath of 20,000 stokies. He's the right stuff for West Ham and as long as he grafts, that and his natural attitude and exuberance will earn him a special place in our hearts.

he has hit the level now and must continue every game. looking good and if he continues then we will have a good second half of the season.

hope he destroys arseneal on Tuesday and gets us to Wembley. the buzz around the place if we win on tuesday will be great.

do Newcastle on Saturday and we can look forward for once.

a long way to go but promising

Looks a different player. He's gone from just standing watching the game go by to chasing everything. Slav must be scratching his head.
