Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
He is our top scorer
He has scored in majority of our recent games
Should have played him with Arnie and one of Mario or Lanzini
I can't think of many teams who would drop a striker who has scored 3 in 4 or whatever it is

I cant think of many teams who'd go 2 up top against that Liverpool team to be honest. We definitely wasn't moving or dropping ArnieCrouchend_Hammer wrote:He is our top scorer

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
don't need to go two up top
Play arnie a bit deeper
he is played in the deeper role all his career
Hernandez, Arnie and Lanzini
Simple

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
Arnie is up top right now and if youre watching the games youll know why. No way hes dropping back the way hes playing. Next week at Swansea we'll more than likely be more adventurous and play them both but I can see why hernandez didnt play today. Sure he can score but lets face it an underdogs striker needs to have a bit more about him at a place like AnfieldCrouchend_Hammer wrote:don't need to go two up top

Lanzini and Mario were really in the game
Arnoutovic hasn't really played 'up top' all that much this season. He has been given pretty much a free role.
Play Arnie and Hernandez and then build around that

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
Through the middle you wont get the work from Arnie needed against Liverpool with another striker. Containing Liverpool is the first thing you have to do and quite why you think we'd have done a better job of that with another striker on the pitch I dont know. Sure Mario was poor today but hes looked good in the other games and Lanzini when available obviously plays. Next week against Swansea im sure we'll go back to Arnie and Hernandez and hopefully it works as well as it did last game

We lost 4-1. I don't think we could have done much worse with both our top scorer on the pitchYea Why Not wrote:Through the middle you wont get the work from Arnie needed against Liverpool with another striker. Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
Captain Hindsight appeared!
If your suggested move was Arnie deeper, who led the line well and has been best higher up, then you're plainly wrong. I am also entirely unsure how Hernandez would have made a huge difference. The man to have brought in was Antonio, that game needed us with presence and pace, combined with individuals who could handle having to do swathes of work alone.
I like Hernandez, but today wouldn't have been a day for him regardless.

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
I am pretty certain we still would have lost with Hernandez in the team, and maybe just as heavily
However, two players have scored over a third of the goals we have scored in the league. Silly me for wanting both of them on the pitch whenever possible

In Crouchy's defence, there was an insinuation there.Lil Joe 17 wrote:

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
I agree with Crouchy.
Hernandez looks like he has his confidence back. Started scoring again and enjoys playing with Arnie. I would have liked to have seen him start. I can understand why Moyes did it, but I would rather see them two upfront together as much as possible. Not sure what playing computer games has to do with that...

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
He might, but he'll still be out of this club at season's end about as fast as he left the pitch at the final whistle today.

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
So we convincingly win against Watford keeping a clean sheet involving both Hernandez and Antonio from the start and both dropped for the next match so we could make sure the Team defends a lot better at Anfield.
4-1 and it could have been double that.
Nope? Me neither.
Evra starting an intense game in God knows how long since being shunned by Marseille and Lanzini too who has only just come back from a lengthy injury.
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to keep playing in form players and ones usually from a winning team who are up to speed than tinker for the sake of it.
