Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
He looks so much better with a competent midfielder in Mario. Will just be more infuriating when they create a bunch of goals together (2 so far, today and the penalty drawn) just to have Mario's option not exercised and Chicharito sold on the cheap to a club where he'll put in 15 goals next season.

I don’t think we CAN play with a back four anymore.HammerMan2004 wrote:^ it won’t happen. We won’t play with a back four.

We get demolished basically every time we play a back 4, our porous midfield means our defence is too exposed and our fullbacks are too Old/Slow/Naive/Rubbish (delete as appropriate) that they need back up from a CDM (which we still don’t have...) or a third CB.

3 in 3 now for Chicharito, give him the service and he is a 20 goal a season striker. He was unlucky not to be given the goal other he scored, wasn't offside imo.

100%
A **** load of nonsense has been said about Hernandez since he arrived, yet he shows again what he's all about. Just gutted he was often overlooked and only came back in the side due to injuries. He should be starting most games anyway.
His conversion rate must be high to the little chances he does get.
The thought of selling him was a stupid idea and glad we resisted the temptation. I just hope that once this sorry season is over, we can go again next season with him spearheading our Team again. He's exactly the kind of player we need to be attracting and keeping here if we ever want to improve and progress.

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
Someone has clearly marked the bloke's card and explained the (transfer out) facts of life to him.
He has stopped diving, stopped falling over with every contact, started running and putting in a shift.
The more I watch him now, the more sure I am that the bloke wasn't even bothering to try before.

I seemed to think you thought he was the wrong style of player for us rather than just not trying hard.bubbles1966 wrote:Someone has clearly marked the bloke's card and explained the (transfer out) facts of life to him.

Having seen his effort in the last three, I'm now thinking it was his attitude.jacko wrote:I seemed to think you thought he was the wrong style of player for us rather than just not trying hard.
Probably helps having Arnautovic up there too, mind.

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs
Who would have thought it?
A centre forward with a history of scoring goals, given a run of games in his proper position with at least a semblance of support, still scoring goals

You started moaning about how defensive we were at 5pm, didn't you?Crouchend_Hammer wrote:Who would have thought it?

Now you're piping up suggesting we've changed?

Him and Antonio telling some of their over the top critics to simmer down with their contribution today.stu1 wrote:Thought he did well tonight, was unlucky with his header second half and did well with the pen and also setting up Mario in the opening stages.
Hopefully he can keep this up and he won’t have to endure the unnecessary overtop slating that seems to have moved on to Antonio now.
