What's the generally agreed net spend so far?

Off the top of my head I think it's around 12 million.

I will wager 25 of your British pounds that the winner of next seasons HOTY is a player that was signed permanently in the much maligned summer transfer window of 2016.

Sadly I can't take this bet with all the posters who thought this transfer window was an abomination - I'm not made of money!!! However, I am happy to make this bet with the first poster who accepts and who had the temerity to disagree with me on this issue in the transfer thread :D

Ps If nobody takes the bet and my prediction is wrong I'll pay up anyway. All in a good cause.

Yes, I was going to come back round to this.

Boooogers! - I think you will need to re-write this, if serious, as I won't put anything down for you just yet!

Maybe a £1 for every minute that Samuelsen plays, only when he starts a Premier League game?

(List updated with DDHammer's bet - we'll have the deadline as the close of the Jan transfer window?)

Given that the current HOTY was (officially, permanently) signed in the summer 2016 window and is widely heralded as our best player, that doesn't seem that unlikely...

But I'll take the bet if we agree that:

a) Lanzini doesn't count given his prior loan.
b) the (current) list of players that will count are Andre Ayew, Sofiane Feghouli, Arthur Masuaku, and Edmilson Fernandes. I think all other signings from last summer have moved on?

Please see ageing's post in the Sakho thread - the window does not close, it 'slams shut'.

I don't see why there needs to be a deadline for placing bets.

There isn't. You've read seemingly misunderstood. Valid bets can be placed any time during the season.

The deadline is for the settlement of the transfer of Carvalho to West Ham.
If we didn't set a deadline for it to happen, it would technically remain open until the player retires.

Therefore, as this is the 2017/18 thread, the deadline is the close of the Janua.... sorry... when the January window slams shut.

Such is my faith in the likes of Ayew, Fernandes and Masuaku I will agree to your terms sir.

Irked at the slating of him, I'll donate a bullseye if anyone else plays more league games as skipper than our very own Mark Noble.

Nice work RARS.

Rars, I've just realised that I added a few more bets to my post on page 1, so you need to update the overall tally.

Ok mate.

As said, it's best if everyone can make new posts, rather than update existing posts (which I'm bound to miss) so I can update properly.

Will amend those now.

Nice work RARS.

Need clarification on this, Doc, as players will 'play' games, but may take over the captaincy if Noble gets taken off.

Would you like me to clarify this as:
'£50 that no other 1 player will start more league matches as captain, than Mark Noble'
