Re: Declan Rice
To be fair, he has up until now gone sideways and backwards (Nobleesque). The reason I ignore stats like this. Players that try and find killer passes in the final third will fail more because it's not a simple layoff to a CB.Colours never run wrote:96% passing success

The boy can definitely pass.
He does look good and confident though.

Re: Declan Rice
With respect to Dec in what half of the pitch did these passes take place?Colours never run wrote:96% passing success

Passing the ball around at the back is hardly a fair reflection on his ability.

Re: Declan Rice
I loved how disappointed he was that he got the deflection for Ali’s goal and how ecstatic he was at the end. We don’t have a good recent history of playing young players, if this guy is getting in he must be doing something right. Hopefully he can put in a real challenge to the first team.

Re: Declan Rice
If we are sticking with 3 at the back (which we should) I would definitely have this lad as one of the 3. Looks very confident on the ball and needs to be in the team to improve and learn and he will become some player.
Disagree with the claims that his passing is just sideways across the back line, to me he seems to bring the ball forward look to pass it forward and makes a fair few pinpoint cross-field balls.

tbf i am not normally one for all that modern 'tekkers' type stuff that is the fashion, but those two F2 free-stylers do have some serious talent, and have carved out a very impressive and lucrative career doing it
I think Billy is a Spud fan, and the other one has just started playing for Billericay i think

Re: Declan Rice
Now we have seen him play in central midfield and at the back, where does everyone think his best position is for us? From what I have seen of him I think he is more of a midfielder. Or he should play in the middle of the 3 at the back.

And how nice of him to show our cards early to everyone, just like he did midweek. I wish he'd pipe the f*** down, personally.Loftyhammer wrote:Not even in squad today according to Ex...
Re: Declan Rice
He also messed up on the 2-2 goal. Gave Zaha far too much space when he should have covered that side for Kouyaté. Had he done his job, Zaha would have no place to go.
I love his potential, but he's not a starter currently.

Re: Declan Rice
Happy for him to start much more often if this is the level of composure and performance we will see.
