Re: Declan Rice
he will stay with us certainly for a few more years.get his England career up and running and then probably leave when he is 22/23.
unless we are a top 6 side by then !

The only chance of being top 6 is in the championship or a rich bloke with a sheet on his head comes and buys us

Re: Declan Rice
of course, but he will back himself to be good enough to be at least part of the squad and get games across competitionsRomford_Iron wrote:
It depends how good you are and what other players are available for selection.
Whether he does or not, is neither here nor there to the decision he makes as to leave or not
Even, if it doesn't work out he knows he will easily get a transfer back to another premier league side, so a no lose from his perspective

Re: Declan Rice
If he watched the Rep of Ireland last night he'll be on the phone to Gareth this morning. Such a poor side. How they managed a draw i don't know.
Anyway i'm confident he'll sign. Deffo wont be here in 2-3 years though if he keeps improving. Somebody will offer big bucks.

Could be interesting to see if O’Neill and Keane departing Ireland has an impact on Rice’s international future

Was thinking the same. O'Neill, apparently, had a good relationship with Declan's father so this might just push Declan to opt for England to the detriment of Ireland.Wilko1304 wrote:Could be interesting to see if O’Neill and Keane departing Ireland has an impact on Rice’s international future

Was thinking more, Keane leaving could be more of a factor in wanting to opt for RoIDM wrote: Was thinking the same. O'Neill, apparently, had a good relationship with Declan's father so this might just push Declan to opt for England to the detriment of Ireland.
Re: Declan Rice
I think the next competitive matches for both England and ROI is about 20th March 2019.
If he declares for ROI he will not just walk into the squad but also possibly the team.
If he declares for England he could get into the squad quite quickly as a possible understudy/competitor to Dier for holding midfield role.
The longer he leaves declaring for England he could find other players(not sure who) have made a place in the squad their own, lot of football between now and March 2019.
ROI are seeded in POT 3 so will be tough for them to qualify. England in POT 1 and a guaranteed play off spot.
If his decision is based purely on footballing decisions then I suspect he will opt for England.
If his decision is based on where he feels his allegiance is then no idea where he will end up.

Re: Declan Rice
Exciting time for England really. It’s been a good year, fans are interested again, and the U21 team is full of talent. Rice going to the U21 Euro’s with such a talented squad could be good for him, and I don’t think there’s much doubt he’ll be good enough to play for England eventually.
I have nothing against Ireland, but after watching their last few games, it’s clear to see where the exciting football future is. I hope he picks England.

Re: Declan Rice
If he was choosing which country currently have the best team it's a no brainer, it all depends which one Declan feels is the right one for him.
He is only a lad who is still developing and is right to take his time and get the decision right.
Personally I think if he gets a call up for England he will take it.

I pray for it to happen every night. Not The Championship, the guy with a sheet on his head. Although, I'll settle for anyone who has billions of pounds to spend. Sheet or no sheet......Clacton-ammer wrote:The only chance of being top 6 is in the championship or a rich bloke with a sheet on his head comes and buys us

Re: Declan Rice
Man of the match for me. The club will be a laughing stock if it loses him for not offering a good enough new deal.
