What do people think Rice’s best position is?

I was convinced it was at centre half, especially after his fantastic displays there towards the end of last season. But now, I’m really not sure. The way he zips the ball so quickly and intelligently in the midfield area along with the strength in his defensive work mean I’m now starting to turn and see him as a top holding midfielder.

There is only one benefit to clubs ensuring players have contracts these days and that is to ensure they can get a fee for the player.

Be nice to get it signed during the international break as he wont be playing for either Ireland or England. get it done west ham and give us some good news !

future captain and our clubs statement of intent with regards to young players. we will give them a chance if they are good enough rather than sit on the bench like foden at city. he will need to move to progress unless he is happy to take the money !

Once the contract situation has been sorted, something needs to be done about that hair style.

I see from the latest reports that Raheem Sterling will be earning a 100x what Declan does.

61 touches - PA % 89.6 which was top percentage today.

Anderson had 65 & 74%

Cresswell had 79 and 79%

Zaba was really off the pace today: 42 for 71%

He has a great pass completion rate and on who scored they have his weakness as passing.

Felt Huddersfield deliberately targeted him today and put him under pressure. Got their goal as a result of it too. He got to grips with Mooy though and came out of it with a few decent scars on his back so to speak.

not 100% sure I can fault him for the goal - beeb said Anderson - the pass was pinged at him so hard and unexpectedly he couldn't control it....

The ball was with our keeper... We played out via Diop and into Anderson who was pressed by two so had to ping it back to Declan. It was early in the game and he just got caught cold. Could have smashed it into row Z.

not just me sutts and it's not a dig at Anderson....

But moments later Anderson's pass put Declan Rice under pressure and Huddersfield pounced to take full advantage, and more loose play by the visitors in their own half handed Mounie his second chance of the game.

I thought it was pinged a bit too hard...........but there you go, different opinions and all that...
