Great stuff from the lad, Let's hope Moyes does n't hook him when he makes a mistake.

Re: Declan Rice
There's a case for just playing him every game now. Collins is a backup. Fonte is nowhere. Cresswell is a left back. The logical first choice back three is the one that started tonight. He doesn't make many mistakes, he's clearly going to be a first team player in the next year or two.

Re: Declan Rice
So comfortable on the ball. Never felt nervous at any point when he was in possession. No reason to drop him at the moment and the experience will be brilliant for his development. Only 18 and part of a defence keeping the leagues hotshot quiet.
Well done Declan.

Re: Declan Rice
He's looked comfortable in the team. In a season where frankly our defense has been summed up by Reid vs WBA, it's good to see that he hasn't been broken by that.
If Oxford could be worked in aswell we could turn our oldest defense in the league to one of the youngest.

Re: Declan Rice
On that performance and the few minutes v WBA he should be given a run there. Only way he will gain experience.

Re: Declan Rice
I thought he was absolutely fantastic, so composed, he looks like he could play anywhere at the back or in central midfield. He's been my seasons highlight, the way he brought that ball down in the final few seconds, no panicking, took it down on his chest, steadied himself and then cleared the danger. We've got one hell of a talent on our hands, for me he's played his way into the first eleven. The whole defence were brilliant, they gave everything they had, it was heartwarming to watch, the West Ham I fell in love with as long as they give everything I can't fault them.

Re: Declan Rice
Thought he did really well last night and have been impressed with him all season. I know he got caught out in an earlier game, but he has put that right and looks well up for it.
Could well be another Alvin in the making for us.
Looking forward to seeing more of him.
Well done young Declan.

Re: Declan Rice
The highest compliment I could pay him is he never looks flustered. Just goes about his job without any fuss and makes it look so damn easy!

No was saying you don't notice him as if he doesn't do nothing wrong or spectacular but in a way it's great as he just gets on with his job.fjthegrey wrote: That means you think he's not good then?

Re: Declan Rice
Ok cool.
A backhanded compliment is when you seem like you're being complimentary, but actually you're taking the piss or suggesting they are not good.

Re: Declan Rice
His composure on the ball in comparison to any current centre half we have is ridiculous. If we can get Oxford back in the mix, and pair them 2 together we might actually be able to start properly playing out from the back. Great performance last night, just hope he continues to play.
