Re: Declan Rice
At the gym last night, guy in his early 60's Tottenham fan, we share a nod, hello, how you doing, and very occasionally a little chat about football, you know the sort of gym fwweeennd...
Anyways, came up to me last night and said "Rice, he has a bit of the Bobby Moore about him doesn't he, reads the game. steps in, doesn't go to ground, going to be a superstar" then "he will be off to a big club soon" so after I nodded and had a proud smile of he is ours I then dropped a weight on his foot for the big club comment...
It is lovely we have a young player that is getting noticed, for the right reason.

Re: Declan Rice
My favourite player quote of the season from Anderson about Rice..
"I’m very happy for Declan because he’s a guy who is extremely unselfish, he plays more for his teammates than for himself, he’s always running, always fighting"
I like it because not only does he rightly lavish praise on a young lad starting out in his career, but it's also very observant and appreciative of what his young team mate does, highlighting what really counts in a Team. He values that effort as he knows he's likely to be a big benefactor of such play and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a slightly pointed remark where there's some in the Team who could be accused of being selfish and more about them, than the team. Fair play Anderson for going out of your way to say what's right and proper.

Declan song (posted by Danny Fenn on Crossed Hammers)
To the tune of my old man's a dustman
Oh declan is a hammer
He wears the forty one
And just before his birthday
He had arsenal on the run
He tucked it in the corner
And grinned from ear to ear
Then he popped in to the pub
And joined us for a beer
To the tune of my old man's a dustman
Oh declan is a hammer
He wears the forty one
And just before his birthday
He had arsenal on the run
He tucked it in the corner
And grinned from ear to ear
Then he popped in to the pub
And joined us for a beer

Re: Declan Rice
IF we lose rice to city then what is the point of football anymore ? 100m for rice nothing to them and we would take it ! If he goes this season I wont be back as I am falling out of love with the game.
city have more money than anyone and will just buy the league and champions league. pep a great manager not really, I would like to see him prove it at a club where he does not have a subs bench of augero silva jesus company sane etc.
of course city or scousers will win the league they spend more than anyone else.

Re: Declan Rice
Couldn't be anymore relaxed right now about Rice not leaving anytime soon. He considers himself paid enough to be happy, lengthy contract, playing for a top class manager in a team full of talent (albeit some dross), with plenty of time on his side just starting out. He will go eventually but that won't be for a few years yet and it does give us some time to keep proving we are a Club that's ambitious. If Pellegrini continues progressing us at a rate of knotts, who knows, he may want to stay for a little bit longer. In the mean time, the bookies can slash the prices all they like, he's going nowhere else fast.

It's not Declan you need to worry about, it's Sully's eyes growing and his hands sweating if City come calling

Yup, there are plenty of players sold "against their will" - Glen Johnson to Chelsea is one, Ginger Pele to Aston Villa another
