Wouldn't be too sure, he'll probably forget that he's taken the Palace job

I've got 3 close Palace fans; the kind who are STH and well versed in their team's limitations and strengths.

Like me, to a man, they all disagree with you.

One of them actually thought their performance yesterday was a corner being turned and there were signs of the team cohering around a decent coach's new ideas and tactics.

Hodgson makes Allardyce look like a modern, evolved coach. He is a dinosaur.

He will take them down.

Not wanting to turn this into a billic thread as we have one of those, he was one of the names heavily mentioned for our job. Really puts things into perspective a little. Although it's mad how they didn't really back him in the transfer market if they wanted him to change the identity of their club after years of pulis and alladyce

I was speaking to a Dutch driver at work before the season started, he supports Ajax, he told me back then that he wouldn't last, he said that even though he won all those titles with Ajax the fans weren't happy with the style of football under him.

if it wasnt for a stupid back pass and a dreadful last minute miss, they would have got at least a point yesterday

Shocking to sack him on the back of 4 games, so there must be more to it from the training ground

Hodgson has a good record with lower level Premiership side, Fulham and WBA.

However, that was over 5 years ago and he is now 70 and football has moved on a bit. I actually quite like Roy, he's a man from a bygone era. He should now be enjoying retirement, not getting himself involved in Premier League football again, espically at a club where it will be pressure game after pressure game.

From what i watched yesterday i would agree with that, they really took the game to Burnley and if they scored 3 or 4 it wouldn't have been a shock. Burnley are that sort of team however who seem happy to defend for 87 minutes and work their absolute b*llocks off

The problem is when you are low on confidence those sort of chances are not put away, which we have seen time and time again over the years. It seems like this Steve Parish is a very difficult guy to work for, as mentioned above that's 7 managers in 6 seasons for Palace.....

Like West Ham they are another club that lack an identity. Money gets thrown around but not wisely, and any planning just goes out the window and becomes a circus.

Ignoring the fact hodgson has done nothing of note as a manager for 5 years.70 is just too old in current climate.Even fergie knew when it was time to go.Its a young mans game now as is being shown more and more.Hodgson will be a disaster .

4 games is far too soon to be hitting the panic button in my opinion. Even with Billic, if we were to lose tonight against Huddersfield I would hope the Daves give Billic more time to turn it around. Although, i get the impression that their hand has been hovering over the button for a while now.

This is pathetic.

How can you bring in a guy who plays a totally different way to all your previous managers and give him 4 games, the last of which they were the better side.

Even if it works with Roy, he is 70 where do they go after that.

Yes, you'd think it would have to relate the way things are going on and off the field, the morale, training, relationship with board and players, rather than just four results in isolation.
