League matches abroad (potentially WHU related)

La Liga is in talks about hosting league matches in US and China.

I have a feeling eventually PL is going to do this, too. Of course Daves would love to be in on the action I reckon.

The US and Chinese markets want Barcelona and Real Madrid with a bit of Athletico Madrid thrown in. They will not want Malaga vs Espanyol.

Same with the hair brained idea that never goes away for premier league games. Man United and Liverpool is a big thumbs up, Huddersfield vs Bournemouth?

La Liga is already corrupt as well, lack of drug tests, the way the tv money is worked out, they might as well add this to the mix

The best way, if it exist, to do this is to have smaller club as the home team vs. Real Madrid or Barcelona as away team. That way two big clubs don't lose home matches and smaller slub gets a tidy profit.

But fans who want to go to the game miss out because its in a different country? There is no best way...

In the scenario Barcelona and Real Madrid would still be earning money from the match/promotional activities that would be taking place with them in town whilst other teams don't get the chance/exposure.

That and the loss of "home" advantage which goes to the heart of the issue and integrity of the league competition.

Real and Barcelona won't allow La Liga to do anything that doesn't directly advantage them over their rivals.

People have been predicting this for over 20 years, it hasn't happened and I don't see this as a new dawn.

Less home games = cheaper season tickets!
Nah, the Daves won't go for that...
Unless of course the game away more than covers that.
Then they'll be biting their arm off & sod our fans that can't get out there.
