I think Delph should be in the fold to be honest but agree its no good if hes playing no football whatsoever. He is a very decent player.

He is another in a long line of English players who have gone to city and achieved **** all out of it. It's about time these players stop letting finance rule their careers and actually go out and have a career to speak of.

Four keepers? For two games where you're only likely to play whoever is the number one? Seems excessive.

How is Cresswell still getting in it? Clearly not based on form as Gareth says it is...

That is a middling collection of keepers

The CB options are passable, but nothing better.

The midfield options are terrible, if Dier is injured.

Is Vardy suspended, or injured? Surely Defoe isn't ahead of him on form??

4 keepers to me says Hart is packing his bags very soon

Dunno why people moan about the squad, we’re not very good right now. Accept it.

Surprised Antonio isn't getting in the squad, he offers a lot more than the Ox. Yeah, that midfield is weak, it wasn't so long ago we were trying to accomadate Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes, three genuinely world class centre midfielders...

Forward line is good, England would be hard to watch (ok, a lot harder) if it wasn't for the likes of Rashford and Kane. Goalkeepers strong too, for all that's worth...

Antonio is injured. He has usually been in the squad when fit but has been unlucky with the timing of his injuries for over a year now

As we are almost qualified he could have stuck few u21 midfielders in squad. On pure ability I'd say the U21s are a better squad than senior team some real potential in there.Wouldnt mind seeing Davies loftus-cheek winks.watched the 1st half spurs Apoel game the other night and winks was their best player apart from Kane.Very un English type player, technically excellent like a modric or xavi.Shame he got injured last year, would most likely be in senior squad if didn't.Loftus-cheek as well has looked very good so far,and Davies could step up easy.Lallana to come back. But unless say wilshere makes a miraculous recovery could see 1 if not 2 kids getting in CM.

Interesting words from Southgate, he’s fully aware the squad isn’t all that. Some of them are very lucky they’re in an era of very average players where a few good games gets you a call up

My god, the national team is in a sorry state. This is easily the poorest pool of players to choose from in my lifetime.

Surely Alli and Sterling are both midfielders? It's certainly an awful midfield when it's presented like that.

Don't think Lallana will be worried too much about getting back into the side when fit. He would be a certain starter.

Not sure what Delph has ever done really, looked half decent in a relegated side and somehow ended up at City probably needing home grown players, don't really rate him.

There's a decent 11 in there but some of the bench options are pretty uninspiring. One point from the next 2 games will be enough and onwards to Russia.

Fact is front 3 of Kane dele rashford, wing backs Rose walker, got decent keepers to choose from,if we can organise a back 3 and find a partner for dier it's not a bad Xi.Coukd easily get to a semi final.
