Tbh the big 6 argument is perfectly fair. The only reason overseas money isn’t split same as domestic is that when PL was formed there was no overseas money. If overseas would have been included with domestic from the Get go Nobody would have said a word.Obviously and quite remarkable the big 6 never thought to include it.The rest of the league has had a free ride till now.Big 6 aren’t a charity, simple fact is without them our league is nothing overseas. So if you take off your personal club hat and look it objectively,of course domestic and inter should be split the same.Infact you could argue there’s more cause for international to be split favouring big 6 than domestic.

Redistribution plans dropped

Proposals to end the equal distribution of overseas television money have been abandoned after Premier League clubs failed to reach an agreement.

The six richest clubs - Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea - wanted their appeal reflected in their income.

A plan suggested 35% of revenue from the sale of global TV rights should be divided based on league position.

But a meeting set for Wednesday was called off as no decision was close.

The Premier League said on Tuesday: "It has become clear that there is currently no consensus for change, meaning tomorrow's club meeting is not necessary."

The Graun reckon West Ham were in favour.
Says it all about out ownership.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham were believed to have pulled West Ham, Leicester and Everton on board but the agreement of 14 clubs is needed to effect such a substantial change.

Big 6 massively screwed up here when they initially sorted out TV rights.Too not have foresight to make international same as domestic.Nobody would have said a word if they proposed that 25 yrs ago.

One of two things, neither good.

Either they are happy to see their club disadvantaged in the financial stakes (or have had their palms greased to persuade them to).

Or they still harbour delusions that the move to the bowl has magically made us a huge club who will benefit from a TV weighted to the top.

Any club who finishes top 10 woukd be better off in the deal. I assume their thinking was that we woukd finish top 10 more often than we wouldnt (as did leicester and everton as well)

Thankfully the whole thing has been binned off anyway
