Had an impact too, they were 2-0 down when he came on and it's 2-2 now.

EDIT: Then 2 really sloppy defensive errors put them back 4-2 down :D

Fonte & 'Silver Bill' Carvalho start for Portugal tonight, vs Switzerland.

Presently level, 10 minutes in.

If Switzerland draw or win, they qualify top, from the group, whereas if Portugal prevail, they will top it on g/d.

Portugal will be in the play-offs, even if they lose heavily.

Fernandez, our guy, isn't in the Swiss squad, presumably due to recent injury.

Argies take care of business. Can't see Zabaleta getting back in the squad but could easily see Lanzini in the mix.

So I guess we will be without Winston when Liverpool turn up the day before fire work night.
Would seem to cancel out Mane possibly being missing for them.

So far as I can now tell, these are the 'likelies' presently in our squad, who will be making their way to Moscow once we've been relegated

Hernandez - Mexico
Hart - England
Fonte - Portugal
Kouyate - Senegal
Sakho - (^)

Lanzini - Argentina
Fernandes - Switzerland

Fairly slim pickings, all told

Cresswell is fourth or fifth choice at best and has no more chance of getting into Southgate's squad than I have. And I'm 72 and haven't kicked a ball in anger since I was 35!!! Just sayin'!!!

I think it’s quite a good indication of where a team sit in the pecking order. Man City and spurs best xi all going to World Cup. Chelsea and man united probably about 9 of best xi. And so it gradually reduces as you go down the league. Seems quite obvious, but interesting that it’s such a close link to league position.

Antonio has half a chance if he can get fit and play well under Moyes.
