I'm sorry to see that KUMB is associating itself with betting. It is everywhere and I feel sorry for the people who are unable to resist the pull of this terrible addiction.

I know matched betting is a way of getting 'guaranteed' money, but plenty of companies will be making money from these schemes. MatchedBets.com isn't a charity and will be getting a percentage mark up from your bets when use use their links.

Sorry, I'll get off my moral high horse now, but I have seen what gambling has done to members of my family in the past. It rarely enriches the lives of the punters but seriously enriches the pockets of the gambling companies.

Sorry to hear of your families issues with gambling APD.

However, matched betting isnt gambling in the slightest, its simply taking advantage of offer made by bookmakers in order to guarantee a profit. You are betting on every outcome of an event and using closely matched odds along with a bookmakers offer (free bets) in order to make money. I did it last year for a few months and made about 3 grand. Totally legal and tax free as well.

Be aware though that bookmakers will suss out what you are doing and ban (known as gubbing) you from further offers. This was the reason I ended up stopping as most of the free bets simply dried up.

Still walked away with a risk free tidy profit though.

Also like to say how sorry I am to hear of gambling problems with people close to you.

We don't encourage anyone who has had problems with gambling addiction to get involved with betting of any kind and provide links to gamcare and gambleaware who provide brilliant advice for those who have concerns about their betting.

However, there are tens of thousands of people taking advantage of matched betting without issues and it is those people we look to cater for.

I can vouch for matched betting working (averaged around £400 a month for the last couple of years, best month was £1200 and I'm a proper part timer) but it seems to be on a downward spiral. Even when I started, it was bet £20 for a £10 free bet weekly offers, now it's 5 x £10 bets or something that nukes all your profit, for £5 free bet. You need quite a big bank to hit the profitable offers now, the 2ups and whatnot.

I would echo what APD says, don't go anywhere near it if you think you have an addictive personality. There are casino offers that tempt even the likes of me to carry on, and I have the least addictive personality imaginable. It's true though, stick to the rules and you'll make money. You can't fail to.

Ironically it was the last time matched betting was flaunted here that got me into it, even though I didn't actually sign up with the company that was advertised.

For the record, KUMB has been associating itself with betting since the day we first took advertising (and we've run sponsored threads like these before). That's about 18 years, now.

I understand that this might not be for everyone, but there are many who will be interested. Therefore if you share APD's concerns, feel free to email/PM - but please don't use this thread to register them, as any more posts of this nature will be removed. Thank you.

Once all of the initial free bets are used up the offers are pretty thin on the ground and you do have to spend a lot of time to grab whatever slim offerings are available so you have to invest in your time. After that there are other strategies like dutching and arbing but these require a considerable amount of capital. And then there are other offers which factor in estimated value of offers but there IS risk attached.

I would say that it is worth doing the initial offers at least. But for experienced gamblers or ones who lack discipline such as myself it is probably not worth doing.

There are still people that use matched betting as one of their main sources of income, though I would say that many of our users are adding profit on a part time basis, due to the fact it can easily be done in your spare time.

As there are so many online bookmaker sites now, the money that can be made from sign up offers alone makes matched betting worthwhile. There are some good reload offers, particularly for big games in the Premier League etc. Acca Insurance offers, with the help of our Acca Backers tool, can help add to profits in the long term too.

i was a huge sceptic of this but gave match betting etc a go and made a profit of around 16k over an 18 month period till i stopped. there is guaranteed money especially from the sign up offers but if you want to take it seriously as i think has been said before you will need a fair amount of bank money and it does take a little bit of time per day. you will also get banned or gubbed at some stages by the bookies. i was probably doing half the offers available so would say go for it.

This is dying a death. Especially when you come to find more and more companies will start to tie your rollover requirements to include your getting your initial stake back.

That is, if you deposit £10 of your own money and get £10 bonus, you'll have to roll it over anywhere between 5-15 times just to be able to withdraw your own deposit.

If

Which means you'd have to take bigger hits on your margins to guarantee it not happening which means not just hitting into profit but your own stake.
It's becoming more and more difficult.

how does it work with the offers from the bookies? Aren't most of them paid out in free bets now and not cash?

I think you’re right, but it’s the way of using those free bets into ‘real’ cash. Difficult if you’ve already signed up to a lot of them, but as mentioned, there are hundreds of them to choose from now, some of which make it a right pain to withdraw your money. I can only speak of my experiences though

It's true there are few new bookies on the scene making rollover requirements but not many considering the number of UK licensed bookmakers there are online.

The benefit of joining a service like Matched Bets is we have strategies for tackling rollover requirements to help extract the maximum from the offers.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to follow up on some of the comments regarding concerns about generating a profit after the sign-up offers have been completed.

It's true that you'll probably have one of your highest earning months in your first month. With around £1,000 worth of free bets & bonuses available to new customers, there's a lot of easy profit to be made.

However, there is still a lot of profit to be made with reload offers. Since August we've run a thread on the MatchedBets forum showing members how to make £300+ profit each month, part-time. We list around 3-4 offers a day which are profitable. In August, the total profit from the offers listed in the thread was £604.40, in September, £541.50 and October is on target to surpass £500.

The offers we list don't include any new customer offers and we're adding new bookmakers to the site frequently. We also don't include offers which can return a potential profit such as ACCAs, Bet365s 4/1 offer, Paddy Powers 2UP and William Hills 4 means more & 2 Clear. These are all very popular offers that can return a good profit every month.

A profit of £500+ is perfectly achievable in your spare time. As you get to know the offers better, you'll be able to complete them quicker and it becomes routine. Making £500 a month works out at around only £16 per day.

One of the best-known features of matched betting is regularly taking advantage of bookmaker offers particularly Welcome Offers . However Welcome Offers are not just free bets , nowadays many bookies offer enhanced odds on hot favourites as well or instead of free bets . For example, this weekend, new bookie Sport Nation are offering 33/1 for Anthony Joshua to beat Carlos Takam - details here https://www.matchedbets.com/sport-nation-enhanced-odds/331-anthony-joshua-to-beat-carlos-takam/

We list many of these Enhanced Odds Offers every week as well as all other bookmaker offers. An advantage of these enhanced odds offers is that you can receive a large bonus for very small initial outlay.

I have been matched betting on another site for just over a year now and it can work. It takes a lot of time and discipline, but it does work. I work full time so am limited to weekends really and still make a tidy profit.

I would certainly suggest that if anyone has any invlanation to gamble this is not for you and you should not even consider this.

Genuinely if you have no interest in gambling then it is risl free etc etc as per the above posts.
